I was at a flea market, kind of bored, when I say an atari 2600, and 8 games, for only 40 bucks. Being A huge retro gamer, I jumped at the idea of bying it. This is the best deal I would ever see

Games:

Donkey Kong
Combat
Asteroids
Defender
Space Invaders
Berzerk
Mouse trap
Yars' Revenge

Anyone else have an atari 2600, and do you still play it?

Again with the spelling Nazi stich, eh Goblin? I made a mistake, sorry. I mean the Atari. Oh, and Tomkins, how's the Atari working?

two words: Mint Condition.

I was surprised it actually worked! I invited my friend shawn(A.K.A Chrono ) over to play it. our favourite games are:

*Mouse trap
*Berzerk (the sound effects when you shoot are the sound used when you pnch on Stinkoman 20X6, Shawn found this out)
*combat (Shawn always beat's me.....)
*yars' revenge
*donkey kong (one word: hard)
*Defender

yeah, you should look around flea markets sometime. You never know what crazy stuff you will find.

What were the keywords you searched? What is the handheld like? Can you play the games on it? How many more questions will I ask you?

I got some bad news, I was playing two-player on yars' revenge, with shawn, and the second joystick stopped working... :-( I'll have to get it it fixed.

I have a 2600! I have a 2600! And a huge freakin' load of games! My personal favorite was "Adventure", but my idiot little brother bwoke it. It and the billion games are in this drawer, right here. Hmm...

Right off the bat I see:
-Pac-Man
-Donkey Kong
-Pitfall!
-Solaris
-Adventure
-Kung-Fu Master
-Maze Craze
-Ms. Pac-Man
-Ice Hockey
-Football
-Cosmic Ark
-Moon Patrol
-Home Run
-Indy 500
-Riddle of the Sphinx
-Air Raiders
-Space Invaders
-Asteroids

That's maybe a fourth of all the games I have. I really should look into getting the thing fixed. I'll ask my dad.

I'll bet that if you get an el cheapo joypad from your local computer store or Stuff Mart, you could jury rig the joypad to play on the Atari. Just take the cord from the joystick and solder it to the right connections in the joypad (you'll have to play around with the connections to find which ones work right, though).

Those old Atari sticks were crap. Cheap Plastic! My pop bought us some cool off-brand sticks that were made of metal, and those things RULED!

I would probably have more, but I think IJ fixed it so I'd never be able to catch up with him. DARN YOU, EYE-JAAAAAAAAY!

I forgot, I made it a long time ago, but its really awesome. It's super small, not much bigger than an Atari cartridge. I can play any Atari game on it, just by inserting the cartridge. I also made an NES handheld, which I do have a link to. Pretty schweet.

The atari's wicked fun, man.

I picked up one from my wife's fambily a little while back.

An Atari 2600, 6 controllers, and like 33 games for FREE!

MUAHAHAHAHA!

Oh, and I think I'll call Didymus Didymouse. For fun! And Profits.

Hmm. I was in the top 10 in about a month. I became 3rd top poster maybe a month or so after that. I remember commenting on how scary that was.

Anyways, I organized the Atari games. I forgot to mention, it's my uncle's Atari, but he left it at my grandparents' house when he went to college, and they eventually gave it to my dad. Like I said, my brother bwoke it. In any case, I have 67 games, some of which seem to be newer than others. Remember, anything you see on the following list is the real thing. I really do have original copies of Pac-Man, Pitfall!, and such. Although I'm sure many others do too.

In no particular order:

-Adventure (my favorite)
-Air Raiders
-Air-Sea Battle
-Asteroids
-Atlantis
-RealSports Baseball
-Super Challenge Baseball
-Basketball
-Berzerk
-Boxing (my dad's favorite)
-Breakout
-Chopper Command
-Combat
-Cosmic Ark
-Defender
-Dodge 'Em
-Donkey Kong (w00t)
-Flag Capture
-Football
-RealSports Football
-Super Challenge Football
-Frogger
-Frogs and Flies
-Galaxian
-Golf
-Haunted House
-Home Run
-Human Cannonball
-Ice Hockey
-Indy 500
-Journey Escape
-Kung-Fu Master
-Laser Blast
-Maze Craze: A Game of Cops 'n Robbers
-Missile Command
-Moon Patrol
-Mouse Trap
-Ms. Pac-Man
-Night Driver
-One-on-One Basketball (oddly, it says "Atari 7800" on it)
-Othello
-Outlaw
-Pac-Man
-Pitfall!
-Q-bert (never understood that one)
-Raiders of the Lost Ark
-Riddle of the Sphinx
-Skate Boardin'
-Slot Racers
-International Soccer
-Solaris
-Space Cavern
-Space Invaders
-Space War
-Stampede
-Starmaster
-Super Breakout
-Superman
-Surround
-Swordquest
-Tennis
-Venture
-Video Olympics
-Video Pinball
-Warlords
-Winter Games
-Yars' Revenge

I also have the system itself, two regular controllers, a stack of random manuals, and a box full of weird-looking controllers. How awexome.

Adventure is still the best. 'Twas the father of modern RPGs and adventure games. It's awexome.
