I'm not on my Windows box now, but it looks safe enough from here. |

Well, it looks relatively safe, but this program also works for making animated .GIFs. |

It's your browser giving to a horribly generic warning...that it *might* be harmful... Er, that's a Microsoft program. They wouldn't put anything malicious in it. |

Most of those little MS utilities are put together by programmers in their spare time or are internal tools and so probably wouldn't be referenced on their site. |

I downloaded it! But now I've got a problem! My cp can only save its things on "bitmap" And I need to find a way to get a "gif" option or else I can't make gifs! |

You have XP? If you do, when saving your picture, change "File type" or whatever it says to "Compuserve Graphics Interchange (GIF)" or something like that. |

Er...I honestly have no clue if Windows 98's Paint can save GIFs. I don't think so. I would recommend using The GIMP to convert your pictures. Don't worry, it's completely free and extremely not dangerous. It's also quite powerful. |

Go here to download it. Make sure to download GTK+2 and The Gimp. Or, if it confuses you, try Paint Shop Pro. There's a free trial version, but you have to sign up for it. |

Is this a Gif animator, or a image munipulater? |

A general-purpose graphics program. I love it since 1) it's free and 2) it handles nearly every image format in existance, and so is probably the best tool to convert image formats. Such as your BMP images into GIFs so you can animate them. |

YES I KNOW, I didi that, then it said someting about which paint program, so I picked MS paint, it saves under "gimp", what now? It didin't say anything about installing when I double clicked it! How am I supposed to use it to convert images? I know a '98 can save it under a gif somehow, my dad got it working tempararily one time. |
