Well, I'm sitting here on my Lappy, awaiting my doom. We're about to get a lovely tropcial cycylone passing through my area sometime in the next 12-24 hours. It's getting lovely and breezy now, but I really hope they'll cancel work tonight! http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDD65011.shtml Look at the map. I live in Darwin, just a little south of the cyclone, so we gotta stock up on canned food and batteries! If I don't get blown away (highly unlikely, but a bit melodramatic), maybe we can all share some stories of near misses of natural disasters! |

Thanks. We're most likely to just get the very outer edge, but it's a pretty strong storm (category 4 out of a possible 5) so it's gonna hurt! |

Man, that must suck! I'm just glad I don't live there! Sorry I'm not being an encouragement, but still. Well, try to hold on, anyway! Don't give up the fight! |

Well, I survived hurricanes Charlie, Frances, and Jean (am I forgetting any?) down here in FL. I'm sure you'll be ok. Hopefully (but unlikely) you won't lose power. That sucks. |

Wow, PizzaTrophy, I hope you're okay. You're probably hunkering down inside (read: not online) right now, but I'm sending good Canadian vibes and they're presently on their way down under. |

I hope you stay safe and dry PizzaTrophy. Oh, and MHG, sending your Canadian vibes to Aussieland might bring them some snow, which I don't think they're used to.

Oh! I never thought of that. Okay, I'm sending non-geographically-specific ModestlyHotVibes. Seriously, PizzaTrophy, I'm hoping for the best for you, your family and your friends. |

Yeah, it would be pretty fun to fly! Though, I think PT would rather stay on the ground then get blown away to some mystical land in the far reaches of the earth. I don't blame him, either. |

Dude, that would be the worst thing ever. Those munchkins and flying monkeys just creeped me out... Seriously, hang in there PT. I would love to be there with you, just to see what's goin on. I've been through 2 tornados, but I've never been through any tropical cyclones/typhoons/hurricanes. I can't even imagine what that's like. |

I'm still alive! Was quite windy last night (hence no sleep), and rainy. Bucketing down now, but the wind has died for the moment. It seems to be still moving west, so we won't get the worst. And good news, no snow!!! lol. It's expected to keep going south west, so my life may be spared! I have a VERY OFFICIAL announcement to make... Shopiom wrote: I don't blame him, either.
I'm actually a girl! (Betchya didn't see THAT coming!) But alive and well, thanks for the concern, fellow wiki-peoples! |

We're getting enough snow to make up for ya.. It was snowing so hard tonight that I couldn't see much more that a couple of feet in my car.. The parking lot was REALLY slick, and that's quite fun when you're driving a forklift... On the bright side, my project here is officially finished. Next week, on to another store, but it's still close enough to my home for me to stay here yay me!

Glad to hear you're okay, PizzaTrophy. And am I the only one who knew you were a girl? Maybe I read it somewhere, or maybe our hormones are talking to each other across the continents. |

Thanks! You probably did read it somewhere else, I'm pretty sure I mentioned it in a topic on TV shows, but I'm jsut far too lazy to look it up! Why do I have to be scared of Naked Lunch? Coz he's naked?!?!?! |

Coz he's naked?!?!?! That seems like a good enough reason
Some of the other guys were bugging him because he jokingly said he had a crush on me. Everyone says he leches after all the girls on the forum! I think it's in the avatar rating game. Even though he has a moustache, I don't think he's fear-worthy |

Glad you missed the real strong part of the storm. Did you get any real dammage near you? Like, power lines out, or trees a falling. I know last time we had a real big storm here it uprooted trees and lifted out telephone poles. |

The most damage here was maybe a few little trees fall down. A few communities to the east of us got it bad though, power outages, trees down and buildings torn to shreds. As far as I know, no one was killed or injured, so everyone was really well prepared. |
