I'm just wondering what everyone's favorite and least favorite scary movie is. |

Yeah, I enjoy a good scary movie every now and then, with emphasis on the word 'good.' Some really crappy horror movies have been coming out lately (Alone in the Dark, anyone?) and it seems like it's getting harder and harder to find one that's at the very least worth seen. *sigh* ...so many big Hollywood executives looking to make a quick buck...and so many people out there willing to fork over the bucks even if a movie is a complete bomb... Anyway, there are a few horror movies out there that I consider to be "good." The Sixth Sense is pretty decent. It's got some effective scares and truly creepy moments, but the ending alone is enough to make the entire movie worth seeing. What else... The Shining is good although I think it's a little outdated. There are a few moments that are unintentionally funny (Heeere's Johnny!). I also like the original A Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween movies. They rock even if I can't say the same for their sequels. I'm not sure about my least favorite scary movie. I don't usually see horror movies unless they truely interest me or I've heard that they're worth seeing. I recently saw The Grudge and that was disappointing. The Village, like Cmar said, was pretty bad as far as horror movies go, but it was good on different levels. And the ending wasn't that bad! |

The only reason why I think "The Village" sucked, was because I expected so much more out of it. M. Night always makes great thrillers* and this one was just plain crappy. I guess you're right when it comes to other genres, but then again, I hate romantic/dramatic/lame movies! They make me cry! Trust me, you don't want to see me cry. *sarcastic tone* I could've never guessed that twist ending! *Note: The kind of thriller I'm talking about is not the video that Michael Jackson starred in as a werewolf. |

I like scary movies only sometimes: I like them when I see them with my lady friend because at the jumpy parts she gets all clingy 
I don't like watching them by myself. I watched Nightmare of Elm Street by myself one night, and I couldn't sleep for that whole night. It scared the crap out of me. |

my favorite "scary" movie would have to be Silence of the lambs. It has one of the best characters in movie history, come on Hannibal Lecter, he's everybody's favorite Canniblal. The same goes for Bram Stoker's Dracula. I do not like all of the cheesy slasher filcks. |

Hey, I like a lot of scary movies. But there are so many, I can't tell all of them. One is... Harry Potter. It's not SCARY, it's SPOOKY and COOL. But it's categorized in SCARY anyways. |
