Came across this:
http://www.etienne.nu/imagepuz/

It is cool. Unfortunately, you will need to use IE for a few stages, because it was designed for it (some stages don't work in Firefox) so open the URL in the dreaded browser. Stage 3 doesn't work for some people so below in tiny writing I have included the link to the next stage after that. What do you think of it?

I saw this the other day on a friend's blog. Pretty entertaining, though IIRC I gave up at stage 7.

It's pretty fun...I can't figure out Stage 5 though...

BTW, how many stages are there?

Speaking of tough puzzles, here's an interesting one:

Guess the Movie.

It shows you frames from 72 movies, and you have to identify the movies. But there's a twist which makes it doubly hard. I only got 21 right; I'd be interested to see who does better.

I must admit, the images one just plain frustrates me. Either my eyes aren't that good, or the puzzle isn't working properly for me. (when image 4 looks exactly like a blank white rectangle with absolutely nothing in it (and after cheating to get past part three), I'm thinking probably the former.)

All I got for Stage 4 was a blank rectangle. Tried the Magic Eye technique on it, but it didn't work. What's the deal?

Holy cow. That's quite difficult. I got 19.

See first post of the thread

Also finally got past Stage 4, though again by kind of cheating. If you'd like to hear my method, read the white text below:

Save the fourth image, open it in MS Paint, and chose "invert colors." This makes seeing the letters far easier (though they're still very faint)

EDIT: Now up to level 7 and now I see what IJ meant. Yikes.
EDIT2: OK, level 7 really wasn't all that hard. You just need to know where to look! Now stopping at Level 8 because I need to go to class.

The trick to the images puzzle is that many of them can't be found just by looking at the pictures.

Man, this thing seems to be popping up at every forum I visit. I made it to #4 on the math puzzles with a little help from the folks at Homestarrules. Remember, a bunch of them you have to open in MSPaint and do something with them.

Gah. First try = 16 correct.

Another way to do it (which I thought was a little easier):

After opening it in MS Paint, just switch to black & white instead of colour. It comes up super clear.

Now I'm stuck at Stage 5. I tried playing with it, but I don't know what to do.

To those stuck on Stage 5, a hint: it's one of the levels you need to use Internet Explorer for.

That said, Level 12 is rough going.

EDIT: OK, Level 13 is rougher going.

As it says, Level 6 is supposed to be red X'ed. Try to maybe figure out why this is so.

EDIT: I am now at Level 15 and am stuck. How frustrating.

Does Stage 5 have to do with the way the letters are arranged, or the letters that are contained in the humble-jumble?

These things give me a headache.

Yep, it's just a matter of selecting which ones are important. Stage 6 is impossible.

Edit: Thanks, Ninten. I thought I tried that, but I guess I didn't do it right the first time. Like didn't hit Enter or something. Anyway, Fire Bird, that's as big a hint as you get for now!

Level 6 is far from impossible.

Try viewing the red x'd image directly by pasting the image properties into the address bar. You might be surprised at what you find.

Also for Firebird, as I said, a big hint is in using Internet Explorer. Specifically, there's something you can do in IE with images that you can't with most other browsers.

The best help I can give for Level 1 is "read the instructions"
