Go Syracuse!

Yeah, that's not happening, is it?

NFC North will win the Super Bowl. It's the best division in the NFL. Period. Well, except for the Lions and Vikings. Football is meant to be played outside. If it's too cold for the "fans", I say "tough". Let me have their tickets.

I don't think so. I think the AFC is still far better than the NFC.

On that note, Patriots are STACKED this year.

Going all the way, baby.

The Colts have your number, they've had it for the last two years.

What...

The Colts knocked us out last year, but I'm pretty sure Denver beat us two years ago.

The Colts don't have our number, not by a long shot. We've beaten them just as many times in the playoffs.

They didn't just beat you, you choked. The Pats had them beat and they let it slip away.

Well, the Pats have never been up by that much when it counts. They're so used to coming back from a deficit that they didn't know what to do.

Besides, it was Manning's time.

My Cougars went 11-2 last year and beat Oregon soundly in their bowl. Not a bad season.

This year we lose our incredible QB, John Beck, to the Miami Dolphins, as well as our workhorse RB Curtis Brown. So that's scary.

But we return a lot of our offensive and defensive lines and a ton of great backs. We also get WR Austin Collie back, who was amazing as a freshman and is back this year.

Here's hoping our new QB can handle the pressure, but with the great O-line and running backs, I think the pressure will be minimal.

First game vs. Arizona in Provo this Saturday. I'll be there.

Go Cougs!

Yeah but that was in a relatively weak conference, if you were in the Pac-10 or the Big 12 you would be a mid pack team.

Oddly enough, Oregon is a PAC-10 team. And BYU beat them 38-8.

One win doesn't mean they're the best though. Consistency my man.

What does "they're the best" mean?

And I know BYU wouldn't go undefeated in the PAC-10 or SEC every year... I'm just saying they can play with the big-conference teams and win.

Go up against USC and let's see how well you do.

Here's a classic example of BTG being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative.

USC is far and away the best college football team in the country this year, and probably the best program overall for the past five years.

Let's see anyone go up against USC and do well this fall.

While it's not a cakewalk schedule, I see they've conveniently avoided Ohio State, Michigan, and the SEC. I say that's a good call on their part, even if I despise someone coasting into the championship.

He's got a point Gravey. You kinda went to the extreme example there.

Schedules are set years in advance and you can't play everyone every year. That said, I kinda wish they had to go through Ohio State and Michigan this year, too.

College football needs a playoff, bad.

1-AA has one and it works wonderfully.
It'd make a great model for 1A

We can't really do the "playoff" thing without rehashing arguments that have been made ad nauseum on talk radio.

I'm not here to rehash all the arguments... I'll just say I believe it can work and that a major reason there isn't one is a misguided belief that there is more money in the current BCS format.

I agree with you totally.
Does the BCS bring in more money than the Final Four? Elite Eight?

Nobody asks those questions for some reason.

So the HRWF NFL draft was this morning. Here's who I ended up with:

Marc Bulger QB
Randy Moss WR
Calvin Johnson WR
Terry Glenn WR
Joseph Addai RB
Reggie Bush RB
Benjamin Watson TE
Vincent Jackson WR
Brandon Jacobs RB
Philip Rivers QB
Adrian Peterson RB
L.J. Smith TE
Chris Henry RB
Jason Elam K
Denver DEF

Feeling pretty good about my running backs and QB slots. Feel weak at WR, but we'll see.

I wasn't on the the draft, but I think I did all right. Though I got a lot of young QB's. Vince young and Matt Leinart.

I keep saying I screwed iKi over in the draft, but now that I take a good look at my players, I made out all right.

By the way, iKi might let me Co-Manage his team. Image

*facepalm*
Lloyd Carr should be fired.

Unless Division 1-AA is now stronger than 1-A, there's no way he should be not [s]fired[/s] burninated.
*where do people find these facepalm images*

I don't think he should be fired. He had a bad game. A really bad game. But if that continues to happen this year, then he might need to get his resume out.

Yeah but were any of them a nationally ranked powerhouse with a very long and storied history losing to a team from a lower division?
