I'd say it's equal to. It has a different sound that EGN and your first listen through might make you go "Eugh, what is this?". Don't worry about that, that's just your mind going "THIS IS NOT STREETLIGHT BUT IT IS AT THE SAME TIME."

You could always listen to the first song and make up your own mind.

Awesome, currently watching the video. Are those backround vocals I hear? Awesome. The horn section is as incredible as ever. My crap laptop speakers don't serve them right.

They did a version of that? What album/single/compilation/bootleg/whatever is it on?

That'll be the Day by Streetlight Manifesto

Yeah, I'm in the mood now. That and RBF's live album are the best ska has had in the 21st century.

You've never noticed the gang vocals in Streetlight songs before?

Somewhere In The Between - Streetlight Manifesto

This song sounds and feels epic.

You were gone when we found you
You were practically surrounded, you were trapped
But the opposition stalled, their blood ran cold
When they saw the look of love in your eyes

Maybe the times we had, they weren't that bad
And everything else was part of the plan
We sang: "I don't know where we go from here"
This is the alpha, omega, beginning and the end
And we all just idolize the dead

I'm listening to the training song from Rocky IV. I feel bad for liking this one more then the one they used for all the other movies.

Oh well.

I have, they just seemed more prominent (to me) in that song then usual.

Current listening: Jacqueline by Franz Ferdinand

Great opener to a great debut album. It gives you a slow intro and then basically says "screw this" and totally rocking out occurs.

Yay, also listening to Streetlight: A Moment of Violence. It's their shortest song, which is perfect for when I need really small doses of them in shuffle.

Hi Scores EP by Boards of Canada. Heard a few tracks from it on Pandora.com a little while back and fell in love with them, so I downloaded the EP last night.

This is some awesome stuff. It's like 1970s-early 80s educational-film music on acid. Pretty trippy, downtempo stuff. Classic BoC. What sets the EP apart from BoC's later stuff is more of an electro-ish sound. My favorite song on the whole disc is the sixth and last track, "Everything You Do is a Balloon". It's just over seven minutes long, and I can't explain why it's my favorite other than I feel really good when listening to it. BoC in general, I've found, is really good music for studying or homework. Not really busy, but still "there".

Time Stand Still - Rush

Possibly my favorite Rush song. It's really...gooooosh, it's just really good.

Someone told me yesterday that Neal Peart couldn't drum. So I took a shovel, buried a hole, and put his backpack in it. I covered the hole, and asked him, "Now how do you feel?" He cried.

That's the worst copypasta I've ever seen.

It's Still Rock and Roll to Me - Billy Joel

This is probably the next song I will become obsessed with for like a week.

Worse than this? Image

Right now, listening to James Hetfield and Alice in Chains singing "Would".
I love Papa Het, but he does NOT need to be singing this song.
