Works fine for me too Primey. Try clearing your cache.

My peeve is the cat hair that is littered throughout the house. Gah, nothing like having a long haired cat in the middle of summer...

Same thing with my dog. But, that's kinda year-round for her. She'll fall asleep on a chair or something, and when she wakes up, 15 hours later, the chair will have a coating of dog hair on it.
Wonderful to sit in.
But it's not like she can help it.

Ramrod, get a cat brush. It only just occurred to me, and I've had the whitest, most annoyingly furry cat for like, nine years. Yep, I'm an idiot.

We have one of those. It doesn't work.

And I'm sure my cat might be furry...er. You can ask BTG, she's fur with a mouth.

I live right down the street from an elementary school, so during their recess, all I hear is 200 yelling, screaming kids. Try dealing with that when your home sick with the flu.

I always feel bad for peole who live near elementary schools. I know I'll do my best to stay far away from then when I find my own place to live (Luckily, that shouldn't be for a good 9 years, so I don't have to worry about that now)

Some of the members here have been up in my grill lately, and looking through a thread in AAC, i just got even angrier.

But I'm not going to waste time over it - it's not worth the time meddling with people who won't even listen to me....

People always think that just because something is a jpeg, it's bad quality. And now I will prove you wrong.

Low Quality JPG:

I never think that jpegs are always bad quality, I just prefer the way gifs compress to the compression of a jpeg.

Actually, I find PNGs are best. The problem with JPEGs isn't quality, it's the compression rate. Changing a file from a JPEG to a PNG will probably reduce the size by 80% without changing the picture. The problem with GIFs is quality. They have a pretty good compression rate, but GIF images can only use up to 256 colors.

But what if it's still not small enough? How am I supposed to compress it then?

Man, I need to write a song about this.

JPG = Ideal for photographs. Some fancy comic you drew? No.

GIF = Just don't do it, ok? Animation? Ok fine, for animation. But that's it.

PNG = Ideal for everything that isn't a photograph. Screenshots of websites? Yes. Some picture you made on the compy? Yes. A picture that you took with a camera out of the real world? No.

PNGs are not smaller than JPGs in general. However, if you break the rules and use a JPG to make a screenshot, the JPG will look like crap. If you are talking about a real photo, though, the JPG will appear to be of equal quality while being much smaller than a PNG.

So sing along everyone! "If you are saving a photograph of the real world, use a JPG, and if it is computer generated imagery, use a PNG. Scalawag."

So congratulations. You provoked my peeve.

Then you reduce the number of colors. It will still be higher quality than GIF, but it has a better compression rate.
Like racerx said, GIF for animation, JPG for photos, PNG for everything else, WMP for image exploits...

Yes, if they used PNGs, comics would load faster. Who knows why they don't.BUT VG CATS SUCK(S)!

No, in some programs (like Fireworks or the GIMP), you can choose the compression rate / number of colors. I guess if you don't have one of those, it's not your fault (but the GIMP is free).

I think I remember reading that the reason why is because some browsers have problems loading up PNG's. Also, PNG's use more memory. Just check out the 8-Bit Theater FAQ, he gives he reasons why he uses .Gif's there.

I hate doing the washing up. I hate it. I hate it! AAAGGGHHH! I can't even explain. I'll do anything but that. So, any time my mum asks me to do it, it takes half an hour for me to actually give up and do it, and even then I refuse to talk to her. And I refuse to do anything else. If I'm suffering, everybody's suffering.

That's only really a problem with fancy alpha-transparent PNGs, like the ones on JoeyDay's blog (which is why it looks crappy if you look at it through IE).

Well, unfortunately, of you're in the Webcomic buisness, you need to cater to all the browsers, just not a few of them.

But webcomics aren't alpha-transparent, no browser ever has problems with those.

I'm just telling you what I read from the FAQ.

My weather here is weird. It was blazing hot two weeks ago, flooding last week, and now it's freezing at night. Weird...

On MSN, where people have their statuses as online, but when you talk to them, *GASP* they don't talk back...

Is it really that hard to change your status for a few seconds?

I have the opposite problem here.

Sometimes when I list as away/busy/whatever, I come back and find one/several new windows on my desktop.

Pet Peeve: Not being old enough to see "R" rated movies. So I'm going to attempt to borrow "Clerks." from my local library, but I doubt that will happen. And I also can't buy any of the South Park season DVD's from Wally-Mart. Gahh!!! So angry!!! Yarr!
