New? Man, I've hated studying for exams for, like, ever. I can't believe that's a recent pet peeve of yours!

Pet Peeve: When bands take great songs and make a horrible cover.

I'm a music lover. and it tick me off to no end when a band/singer takes a great song and tarnish it with a horrible cover.

Example: Limp Bizkit covers George Micheal's Faith and BUTCHERS it.

I just hate the white singers that think they're black. Like Fred Durst, Kid Rock, and Eminen. They annoy me beyond belief.

Grrr... I'm so mad! I looked all over the place for a picture of the art that inspired my first tattoo.... It's a work by Paul Kidby of the Discworld (from the Terry Pratchett books). But I couldn't find an exact picture, so imagine this one from a birds-eye view. And in black & white. And on my back. And about 4 inches wide.
Image

My second one is the Japanese character for "younger sister", because of the time my sister and I spent in Japan a few years ago.
Image

Just the very top part, obviously. I just couldn't find a simpler picture. That one's on the back of my neck, about 1 1/2 inches big.

So there. Both very tasteful, and not at all gross or disgusting. :p

I totally agree. Have a look at an Top 10 chart and over half are rap/R n B songs. R n B is only slightly better than rap.

What really annoys me is Snoop Dogg. Anything with his name on it could go triple platinum gold or whatever, but he's not good. I mean, 'Drop it like it's hot' is the worst song ever.

Yahoo! I finally found a picture of my tattoo! Except you'll still have to imagine the black & white.
Image

And sorry, Cowboy, but I wasn't able to find a larger one. I'm at school, and I don't have much time, so you can look for yourself if you want. The artist is Paul Kidby and the turtle's name is Great A'tuin, if that helps. I actually have a signed & numbered print framed in my living room - one of my most prized possessions. And read the books, too!

Is 1600x1200 big enough? (Same site, I just took the "small_" out of the URL.)

Thanks, BTG. I likes it too. I gave a small picture (from the back cover of a calendar, actually) to the artist for sizing, and then he did all the detail freehand while looking at the big picture. Maybe I'll try to photograph my back so y'alls can see.

And thanks, IJ. I was thinking of trying to find that site again so I could use that as my desktop, and you did all the hard work for me!

Just you wait though.

I hate Tech Support. Laast week I was on wait for an hour. An it was like 10pm on a wed. All I needed to know was what my username and password for my dsl was, that's it. All of ten seconds. But no, wait an hour while your phone company charges long distance.....yarr.......

This is why I'm glad I don't have a land line. Free nights and weekends. :)

No offense taken, but I'm not quite sure what you mean. Like, flavor=flavour, color=colour, offense=offence, that kind of thing?

Oh, I didn't even realize this, but I used 'offense' in my last post.

Well, there are many differences. It's funny, though, I always assumed you were American. Where are you from, Australia?

I guess that's why you're on right now, it's 1:00 A.M. here...

In fact, I really should be in bed.

:p

I don't blame you for Bush, but I do blame Howard for following him.

And not signing the Kyoto treaty.

One more thing, whenever I'm at an Australian or British news site reading about politics, I invariably come upon the abbreviation "MP."

What does that stand for? It's always bothered me that I have no clue.

It stands for "Military Policeman" here.

It stands for Member of Parliament.
And PM stands for Prime Minister.
It gets quite confusing.

It does get confusing, especially because here we also have MPPs - Members of Provincial Parliament. It's hard to keep track of sometimes.

I didn't even realize that American language had influenced cell vs mobile - here we always say cell, and I guess I thought mobile was just a UK thing.

And I think both of those would be nice tattoos, Ramrod & BTG. Just make sure you think about it for a long time before you get them, so you don't regret them. I thought about my turtle for about a year and a half before I got it, and my Japanese thing for about a year. I'm glad I did, so I didn't end up with just another butterfly or something.
