Basic Cable is the bare minimum that you can get. It is 20 channels at most. It is what the Cable company believes are the top "Must have" channels.

Buh? I have basic cable and I get something like 52 channels.

Anyway, Peeve: My computer and/or internet is wonky. It pauses for a second every once in a while. It's annoying when I'm typing out a post.

When people think that Bill Cosby is from New York.

And when people think that I am in the Army.

And and when people think that definitely has an "a" in it...gar

DishFAMILY package: No Cartoon Network (or TLC or ESPN or Disney (hey I got small kids)); aka REALLY SUCKS but is redeemingly priced at $19.99. (They try to make up for the lack of good channels by having low cost substitutes; instead of CN they have Boomerang, instead of ESPN you get College Sports Television, instead of Disney you get 6 Nickelodeon channels. At least I can still watch Good Eats.)

America's Top 60: This is your standard "Basic Cable" package. All the things you expect, but none of the extras. Priced at $29.99.

Basically, the price decided it for us at this point of our lives. It was this or nothing, since we can't even get broadcast channels with an antenna out where we live.

Peeve: Having to make budget over quality decisions?

I don't know that I could make it without ESPN, but, truth be known, when I lived in Bowling Green, I watched way more CSTV than ESPN.
CSTV shows a lot of NCAA IAA football. That, my friends, is football. They even have a REAL National Champion, decided by playing, not by computers.

Peeve: People who make fun of me for wearing a Braves shirt. Umm, yeah, you know what? That's what a fan does, they support their team, even if said team is next to last in the NL East. It's doubly annoying if said person is a Yankees or Red Sox fan. Let's see how many of those people are still fans when the Yankees or Sox have a bad season or two (why Glavine was traded to the Mets, I'll never know).
Go Mets. Yankees suck!

Hey, I got respect for the Braves. They're not doing too hot, but I still like them. Oh, and you said something about the number of fans for a team when it's having a bad year? Dude, it's the Red Sox. We've had our share of bad experiences (1986), but we still remain loyal.

Yeah. I mean, I've seen some unloyal Red Sox fans, but even when the Sox got so far only to fall down for a good 86 years or so, their fans were still as loyal to the team as ever.

As for Yankees fans, I'm not sure. I've heard my sister say that that some Yankees fans are rpetty unloyal (she goes to college in NY), but she's a huge Red Sox fan, so she may be exaggerating there.

I'm not talking about REAL Sox or Yankees fans, just the ones that suddenly became fans starting in about 1998..

No, that's pretty accurate. Why do you think they Boo A-Rod half the time? Besides, where were all the Yankee fans in the 80's? They converted over to Metism.

Well, I live in the Chicago suburbs, so the peeps here are divided in deep sentiment over the Cubs and the Sox. Especially after the Sox won the World Series last year.

i am so angry with my mom. she has decided that the stack of extra chairs in the dining room is making the room ugly, so she has decided to move them. she won't put them in the shed, so she puts them in the closest room. guess which one? yeah, mine. right on top of the trunk where i put my stuff that i use on a daily basis. i try to get them off, and they almost crush me. then, i get yelled at for tipping them all over the floor. well, it's not my fault, it's hers.

I can only go on an hour a day, and almost all of the images on the forum are red x's. And on top of that FIREFOX WON'T WORK BECAUSE OF THE PARENTAL CONTROLS!!! ARGGLBLBBLBLBLBLBLB!!!!!

EDIT: Yarr. I be partial to the Sox.

Yes, it was worth it. He used to play for the Sudbury Wolves, so I have a soft spot for him.

Cool, West Chicago. Cool. My mom has something against West Chicago. I don't get it.

You're just wanting her to hit you, Gravey... It's not going to work. She's gonna ignore anyone who actually wants death. :-)

Well considering I have already achieved that level of success, it's pretty much downhill from here.

Peeve: The little hair clippings that fall down your shirt during a haircut. They itch like crazy!

I think she's probably just hoping that you'll make some good money. Healthcare is a good way to do that. Don't worry about it too much - before I finally settled on teaching, my folks were really sketchy about the other stuff I thought of pursuing. And especially now that I've gotten into foreign language, they've quit buggin' me.
