If people were perfect, then that would be true... but sometimes people make mistakes and do things without thinking.

People constantly telling me that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is dead.
kinda like after 9/11, people kept on asking if I heard about the attack, OF COURSE I HAVE, THE NEWS IS EVERYWHERE!
His death won't stop much, there will just be another person to replace him.

Peeve: Mosquitoes. Yes I posted this peeve earlier in the thread but Holy Crap! I haven't seen bloodsuckers this bad since I went down south. I'm about as far north in the continental U.S as you can get and the buggers are swarming up here! They never swarm and they never show up in the middle of the day. Guess I'll be inside a lot this summer...dangit.

Reminds me of Aladdin. "You're only in trouble if you get caught." "I'm in trouble!"

I know, I keep doing that too.

There was one time when I used a Joey Day avatar with a santa man hat on, and he made me take it down.

Here's how to deal with that:

"I'm sorry."

"No, you're not!"

"Okay, I'm not then."

Then walk away.

You know what annoys me? When someone tells you about something bad that happened and you say "I'm sorry" and they say "It's not your fault." I'm offering you my sympathy, not apologizing! I know it's not my fault. Just accept my genuine sympathy like a normal person!

Ugh.

Here's another peeve: Threads that claim to be an "official thread" for something. Newsflash: Unless an admin created the thread (or came along later and declared it official), it ain't official! Get over yourself. (Exception: If it's a thread about something you created, like your web site or your comic or whatever, then you can call it official. Otherwise just.. don't.)

I get kinda peeved when people refer to Blue Man Group as "The Blue Man Group". THERE'S NO "THE"!!! I don't care if The Simpsons called them "The Blue Man Group".

Do you see a "the" in there? No, you don't! So if anyone puts a "The" in front of Blue Man Group...you're wrong!

I'm sorry for that IJ.

I'll go make an edit right now.

Thanks 10^6, Alexander.

I fixed the other one.
Jones is back with a vengeance, baby! WOOOOooo!

Oh yeah, Ian, I'm-a stop calling them The Blue Man Group now... I always thought "The" was part of the name. I have seen the error of my ways.

From now on, I will cease to capitalize the T in "The Blue Man Group." So now I will say things like "Ian feels strongly about the Blue Man Group." Thanks for helping me correct my errors!

when people think that their the first person to make a "witty" observation that you've heard a trillion times.

Me:"How are you sir?"
Customer:"good, how are you?"
Me:"I'm fine, thanks."
Customer:"I'm sure you'll be better once you're outa here, eh?"<chuckle at themself...>

There are plenty of other situations where this happens. I just dont want to take the time to type them all.

I rather doubt that will satisfy him. If the group is called Blue Man Group, then saying "Ian feels strongly about the Blue Man Group" is equivalent to saying "Strong Mad feels strongly about the Aerosmith."

Ugh.

You know what annoys me? People who insensitively push through a crowd, and start screaming and pushing when I refuse to move out of their way.

You know what else annoys me? Bystanders who tell me to calm down when I put an elbow to the aggressor's stomach...

In which case, I propose we only say things like
"Ian feels strongly about a Blue Man Group."

Oh. Kinda like Gorillaz then.
Note 1: I do *know* that, y'know. I'm not a total dolt.
Note 2: Yes, the Gorillaz thing was intentional.

Correct.

So the right way to say it is: "Ian feels strongly about Blue Man Group."

Sometimes an incorrect sentence is made on purpose.

Have you ever read the works of e.e. cummings?

Yes, I have. One time, after I showed my teacher a poem in all lower-case, she thought I was trying to be the next cummings. ;)

And on that note, Image.

Pet Peeve #22822: People who refer to brand name products (and when I say "brand name products" I mean "the 'iPod'") as people; eg.

"This is easily the shiniest thing since iPod!"
"iPod is different!"
"We have lots of accessories for iPod!"
"You don’t just take iPod nano on your run."
