I am a Korn fan and I have been dealing with that statement for years, "Korn sold out." No, they didn't. They have gone mainstream, but they haven't forgotten their fans.

A band not forgetting their fans is the most important thing. But, their cover of Word Up by Cameo was something I couldn't help but laugh at (sorry.)

I'm glad you like them, but I certainly don't.

On the other side of that, I'm peeved by some of these ultra-hardcore fans who'd say that they hate bands like Slipknot and Korn just because they're mainstream. That's just stupidified.

Well, I'm not one of them. I've actually sat down and listened to them. I could care less if they are mainstream or not. I like Godhead and The Cure, and they are considered mainstream. Korn and Slipknot just don't appeal to me because I don't like how they sound.

Oh yeah - don't think I was accusing you of that! And not liking the music is fine, it's just that breed of musical snobbery in any genre.

For instance, I'm into world/trad music (amongst other things, including Korn ), and I was asked by a self-styled expert on the genre who my favourite outfits were. Answer: The Pogues and Bottine Souriante. And he goes: "Oh yeaaah..... but everyone likes them." AAGH... what does that have to do with anything? And just maybe they're popular for a reason, eh? Guh.

FoNY - I didn't think you were, but I just wanted to get my reasons out in the open, you know?

When a band gets popular under their own means, and not by trying to conform to what is out there, it's great! Bauhaus was on the Top 50 UK charts for the longest time, and they did their own thing. Same thing with the Sisters of Mercy and Siouxsie. Skinny Puppy is considered revolutionary in what they were able to pull off with synthesizers and keyboards, and they are still going strong after they reformed. That kind of thing requires hard work and utter dedication to your art.

Admittingly, there are bands that are popular that are unmatched in their utter crapitude that are only popular because of mass promotion from record labels. Like The Used and My Chemical Romance. Separate, they are beyond terrible. Together, they did a horrible cover of Under Pressure. Friggin blasphemy!

As far as other types of music are concerned, I love flamenco. What is done with the classical guitar is astonishing and, not only that, it makes me proud of where my family came from.

Personally, I listen to most everything to a degree, but I do have my preferences as everyone does.

Oh yeah, the Pogues rock.

Or how about that feeling when someone really does punch you in the jaw? Now that's a sucky feeling.

:p I find that mutilation is cool. Not the actual mutilating, but the visual effects of the mutilation and the guts that spill out afterwards. Autopsies also amuse me to an extent. The lung is officially the coolest looking of all organs.

I just turned on the radio and you know what I hear? Some crappy pop cover of "Santa Claus is coming to town". These crappy contemporary holiday songs are really bugging me. When the holiday season rolls around I don't want to hear crappy Hilary Duff songs! I want christmas music from the '50s! GOOD music!

NO KIDDING! I'm sick of crappy Christmas songs. I heard (I think it was) some classical Christmas peice by Bach. Now, I like Bach, but I don't like it when there is an extremely boring drum beat in the background with the theme played by a synthesizer. IT sounded like some college kids programed a Casio keyboard to play a song and they thought it would sound good on the radio. NOT!

Jessica Simpson attempting to sing (if you can call it singing) while eating the microphone, during the lighting of the capital's Christmas tree, was awful too.

You mean on my profile? Yeah, but I don't have any tunes on it quite yet. I haven't even had the chance to update it. I was horridly sick and you know... with school and all, there was no time for it. But, since I have until Jan 9 before school starts again, I'll be able to get at least one song done. Making sure everything is perfect is tedious beyond belief!

I agree. The pop singers only ruin the classic Christmas songs 9_9...

But yeah...one of my biggest pet peves would be when people do NOT buckle their seat belt while driving or in a moving vehicle. People seem to think they are invisable when in reality people are killed EVERY DAY because of that. A majority of my friends don't even think about their seat belts and it drives me crazy. I probably drive them crazy pestering them about it :-P

I hate my University's policies on grades.

The profs can't email them to us. They cannot post them in the halls (even if they "hide" the identity of the student).

The only way, other than going to their office (and I can't do that, as 2 of my profs are out of the country) is to get them on the registration website, and, unlike my undergrad school where grades were posted as soon as profs turned them in, here, they wait until EVERY prof in the university turns in their grades to post them. It's stupid, and pointless.

I hate standard seatbelts (another one of my peeves). Because of them, I have ruptured cartilage in my chest that is still healing. I like 4 point seatbelts though... they don't create uneven tension in an accident. But anyways...

This really ticks Me off, when people write a response to your post then once You try writing back They erase the responce and so You end up double posting on accident.

 Wow... he's st00pid.
:bubs: Get me mah chainsaw! I'm sawin' Clan 'till the fat lady sings!

It gets me Dufflusted, which causes flame wars.

Well, it may not be legal but the Feds can't chase you down for using it.

Peeve: I would like to know who in my family thought that settling in Upstate NY was a good idea. Apperently they must of seen what it was like during the summer, it is nice then. They must not have realized that living on the Southeast side of a Great Lake make for fun times during the winter. A few days ago I got hit with 8 inches of Lake-Effect snow and enough freezing rain to leave a sheet of ice thick enough for hockey on my driveway.
