Here's another language-y pet peeve of mine:

When people say "literally" when they're actually speaking figuratively (i.e. the opposite of literally).

Example:

"It was so funny I literally died!"

Grr. No you didn't. Had you literally died, I would not be standing here being subjected to then agony of listening to you figuratively butcher the English language.

Here's a new peeve. Well, not so much of a peeve as a general wonderization. Why oh why does Ramrod always use two dollar signs? It ticks me off. Sucka.

It is from the anime and manga series, Trigun. The money used in the series is known as double dollars and the symbol $$.

Ahh...I found the thorn that bothers the MHG. Now to continue to poke on it......

*poke*

I just do it as fun MHGrl. If it really bothers you, then I'll keep doing it...I mean stop.

Take what you can get. Would you rather have the rain, or the snow?

I'm completely the opposite.
I hate the weather we are having now, since it's like, 100 every day.
Its only 68 right now, and its supposed to rain this weekend. Finally.

What? I think rain is awesome! Then again, I live in Arizona, so rain doesn't happen often. I mostly like the way rain sounds. But I don't like monsoons, because we have to turn off the computer for safety reasons.

I'd rather have the snow. I love blizzards, even when I have to shovel.

So yeah, thanks to Tropical Storm Tammy, we've been getting rain and rain alone for since the Tuesday before last. Today is the first nice day, and where was I? At Pizza Hut. Working. For SEVEN HOURS.

Gah. That's my peeve. Being stuck cooking lazy people's pizza while the beautiful day is a-wastin' away outside.

Well, some TV networks seem to really, really like airing the same episode over and over.

Back when I got up at 7 AM and watched Fairly OddParents every morning, Nickelodeon showed Sleep Over And Over/Mother Nature about every 3 days or so. I got so tired of that episode.

Also, over the summer, they kept having Billy and Mandy marathons. For some reason, for 3 days in a row (no, I'm not exaggerating), they showed Runaway Pants/Scythe 2.0 during the marathons. None of the other episodes were shown twice, but they showed that one 3 times. Uggh.

And, of course, if there's an episode that you have yet to see, but you REALLY want to see, then it won't rerun for a really long time. I'm getting tempted to download Crushed--I REALLY wanna see that one!

Ian, I feel your pain, sorta. I seem to get sick only when something interesting is happening. I missed out on a field trip this week due to a tummy bug.

I know what you mean. For more than a week, the only Danny Phantom episode they ever showed was the movie!

I agree with Shoppy and Mandy.
Some of the episodes of shows are shown WAY too much.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. I hate when it rains like that.

Today was the first time I saw the sun in a week.

"What's that bright thing in the sky?" "Why son, that'd be the sun" "Sun, I think I remember seeing that once..."

Yeah, that basically. Though yesterday was beatuiful out, but I had to work. And we didn't have that many customers, so it was very boring. On the plus side, there was a beautiful sunset.

Main pet peeve of the moment: People gloating over something you wish would've happened to you.

Instance: Despite being a south sider, I'm a Cubs fan. And look at my predicament. I can see my dad gloating right (hamina hoo) NOW!

Now you know how I used to feel. I'm a huge Red Sox fan, and I live in New York (granted, upstate NY, but still...) and there are Yankee fans everywhere. They also seem to be the loudest, most arrogant and ignorant people alive.

I'm really gonna' hate when my Algebra teacher gets back from maternity leave, I'm a Cubs fan, I made topic once about it, and shes always saying that the White Sox are better, and it's gonna be shoved in our faces so much.

Indeed! I don't like the Yankees or their fans.

Peeve: Getting the door shut in your face, just as you're walking through. Don't you hate it when that happpenes?

They always show Sucky reruns, too. I remember back in First Grade, I saw the Spongebob episode "Idiots On Ice" Or something with that plot. I wanted to see it again REALLY badly. Guess what? Wasnt played for like, 6-10 months later. X-(

you mean the Rem song from Trigun? Then it'd be easier just to search Trigun.

That song is VERY different when Tori Amos sings it.. and she's purtier than Mike Stipe, too.

I dunno why exactly, but there's something about "hidden" double meanings in tv commercials that really bug me! Like, "Helluvagood Bean Dip! You'll love it! We swear!" or that stupid Aspercream jingle that actually went, "You bet your sweet Aspercream!" That raised eyebrows. In fact, they changed the jingle a few days after it first aired. Guess some other people were offended. :P

Oh....my bad. Try using quotation marks. Like a so "REM". Also, use the search by artist instead of by keyword.
