Wrong. English gets its Latin influence primarily from French.

I'm gonna say you're wrong. You obviously have not studied either enough English or enough Latin. I've only studied a tiny bit of Latin myself (and theological Latin at that), but you'd be amazed at how many English terms come straight to us from Latin, or at the very least, show a great deal of Latin influence in them.

My recommendation for you, Quackingstick, actually study the language sometime and see what I'm talking about.

Oh, and I'm not talking about language family classifications. I'm talking about actual terms. English may not be a Romance language, but, as I said before, there are too many terms in our language that originate in Latin.

OH, RULE SIX

Actually, just because a language gets words from another language doesn't mean they're related. After all, Japanese gets some words from English.
And by saying "based," you are implying that you are talking about relation.

Can you all talk about something that I can understand? I don't like random thoughts being about things that are harder to understand than eating apples.

I feel like creating a joke programming language for some odd reason.

But should it be modeled after something? Like an RPG battle system?
Code:
HelloWorldExample attacks!
HelloWorldExample says "Hello World!"
Battle win!

How about a chat system?
Code:
helloworld signs on.
helloworld: omg, "Hello World!"
helloworld signs off.

Or maybe a lazy boss/manager/high-ranking employee's to-do list?
Code:
To-do list for HelloWorld
shout "Hello World!" at employees
call it a day

And on another unrelated note: What happened to this thread's ALL CAPS title?

And the other thing is: Whenever I type a word that has a word beginning in the same letter after it, I type the second word at first.

I understood the first part, but the second part is not quite the same....

Unrelated note: My computer sounds like a cricket :O

...Latin is awesome. And English may be a Germanic language, but most of the more formal sounding words came from Latin, either directly or via French.

But if you learn Latin, then you have to learn another language before you can make use of that Latin knowledge. As opposed to just, you know, learning another language besides Latin that people actually speak.

And speaking of language, you might want to review Rule 6 again. Partially censored terms (such as the way you used this one) are also prohibited.

But Einoo, you missed the entire point. People actually DO use Latin. In medical, academic, legal, professional, and ecclesiastical circles. Just because it's not used conversationally anymore does not mean it isn't useful. Koine Greek isn't used conversationally anymore, but it's vital to my own career.

Also, you'd be surprised how easy it is to learn a new language once you've already learned a related one. Syntax and grammar seem to make much more sense. I had already studied French and Koine Greek before I studied any Latin, but I was surprised how many of the concepts of those two languages helped me understand it.

Wouldn't it just be better to learn those terms, then? Just because certain words evolved from a language doesn't mean we need to learn the old one. On the contrary, I'd think, in some cases.

There is precedent. Granted, most of it by Chekt, but still.

I still can't believe Baltimore pulled off that comeback. Awesome.

I'm making two guarantees right now:

1. Yankee fans are going to come out and go "BAWWWWWWW DIVISION DOESN'T MATTER!!!1"

2. If the Sox had lost the Division and tried to say anything like that they would have been "YEAH U WULD USE THAT EXCUSE! WE RUL!!1"

I hate the Red Sox.
I hate the Yankees more, though.

I really hate the Yankees.

Red Sox "fans".

Real fans, y'all don't bother me. However, for every real fan, there's 3 or 4 that became "lifelong fans" when they made that world series run a couple years back.

Ugh, Ctrl+Alt+Del...

It's only good when he makes a comic NOT about the main characters. And even then, it's usually not good.

Yes. Very yes. That or I'm too tired to think for myself now.

But Sinfest rules.

Panel one: Explain the entire joke.
Panel two: Wall of text
Panel three: Something re-using art from previous panels, or something ridiculously easy to draw
Panel four: Your readers all are idiots, explain the entire joke to them again.

Usually if you skip over the second and third panels, it's slightly funnier.

^ Wait, Sinfest or CAD? [EDIT: simulpost]

In other news, I don't know what Scott did with his art style in VGCats, but he needs to revert it back, stat.

CAD is fail.

And Sinfest, though awesome at one point, has been essentially the same thing for years. It's like how when you start doing drugs, and eventually the same level of stuff just doesn't cut it anymore. I need greater concentrations of Sinfest awesome, or I will get the shakes.
