Snork: Yes, yes you should.
Dear Douglas, Acekirby, Einoo, and DS_Kid,
I was wondering if the four of you would be interested in a project that I'm considering. The basic premise is this: a small group of fanfics, each of which is titled "Endbook". Each would involve an element of nature,
earth,
fire,
water,
wind, and
darkness, and the horrors that are occurring all over Forumopolis because of these elements.
Each of the fanfics, one for each of the five, would basically be a survival story, much like Douglas's "Extermination". The thing is, all five storylines would be happening AT THE SAME TIME, and none of the authors would give ANY INFORMATION WHATSOEVER as to the reason for these epics.
I envision something like this: five threads appear in "Arts & Crafts", titled "Endbook 1", "Endbook 2", and so on. All first posts contain an identical prologue, and a unique first chapter, with no further explanation from the author. Periodically, all fanfics would be simultaneously updated (which would require constant contact between each of us) with new chapters, until they all culminate into a massive final chapter in each thread. What would make the whole process even cooler is if we posted regularly elsewhere during the Endbooks, but all of us ceased posting for three days or so after each of our final chapters are posted.
The fanfics would be synonymous throughout. The strange occurrences with the elements (example: in the earth storyline, people mysteriously being swallowed into the ground) are intertwined in some fashion, and each main character in the every one of the stories (which probably shouldn't be you, by the way) is occasionally mentioned in the other Endbooks. This would require each of us to keep careful attention on the other books in the series.
Here is an example of a thread.

The proper title for each Endbook would be a single word with something to do with the element, lowercase and in italics. You can pick whatever word you want.
The prologues would all be the same, something along the line of "Something strange was happening in Forumopolis…” and so on. I’ll write it if no one else wants to.
This project should be a lot of fun. If you’d like to join me, please do the following:
1. PM me with your response
2. Tell me which element you’d like to write about (first come, first served)
3. I’ll PM you back with more information and answers to any questions you might have
I think January 1st will be a good time for all first chapters to be ready. Then we’ll choose a good time and post them all.
IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO PARTICIPATE, PLEASE DO NOT TELL ANYONE ELSE ABOUT THIS.
Thanks.
Unequivocally,--The ExpFilm
