Wouldn't a Bismuth ship completely kill everyone who got within ten feet of it, or crumble to pieces if someone stepped onto it?

Try time travel. You can't go wrong with time travel. Make sure to go back into the past and revisit something that already happened from a different point of view. Also, paradoxes. And lots of them.

Yup, paradoxes, I'm no time genius but I'll try my hardest.

Also, what's this about Ducks?

A small extract:
Within a few weeks, we had got to it, or rather, part of it. We were all shocked when we first saw the top of a very large object when we cleared away the soil. We could only see a hoppered surface which shined pinkish green in the sun. It was, again, what we assumed to be bismuth, but unlike lab samples of bismuth, it was unnaturally strong, so we couldn’t chip a piece off to examine.”

So yeah, space bismuth

Then it wouldn't be Bismuth, would it?

It wouldn't be bismuth then! There would be a new particle added to it, completely changing its molecular structure!

Unless it's another material that happens to be called bismuth, but is nothing like the bismuth we know.

It's bismuth atoms in a manlier structure. They are held together by spiral power. They exist in Super-Spiral Space.

Now you're just making crap up. Why don't you just make it out of cosmetic supplies?

Actually, that makes a certain amount of sense. Think of carbon, it can exist as graphite or diamonds, so I suppose it's theoretically possible that another element, like bismuth, could exist in another state that we don't know about. I'm not really an expert in chemistry, though, so I don't really know.

Like carbon. Carbon is both graphite and diamond, one of the softest and one of the hardest minerals, and yet we don't doubt its existence.

Yeah, space bismuth.
