I knew this time would come. Inverse has finally sold out to the modmins. I mean, we all kind of saw it coming, but it's just sill sort of.. I dunno, I'm just a little disappointed. Hah. Nope. It's just here is not there. I made this all perfectly clear over on SI two weeks ago (tho you wouldn't have seen that of course...). Here = rainbows and smiley happy time. Think that's lame? You're right, but get out. |

I will now show you the conversation I had with the Jabberwack chatterbot yesterday with typing errors from both conversationalists preserved. Disclaimer: In this discussion I am out of character. <In before "you're not an android?!"> SOMM-1 VS JABBERWACK Jabberwack: Are you ambitious? Somm-1: I would not call myself a man of vision. Jabberwack: I would call you a robot. Somm-1: A robot? My forum persona is an android! How did you know that? Jabberwack: Because I think I would know, being me. Somm-1: And who or what might you be, might I ask? Jabberwack: You did. Somm-1: *facepalm* Okay, wise guy. What are you? Jabberwack: I'm a person. Once again, you've drifted off topic. Somm-1: Topic shmopic. You're not a person, you're a chatterbot. Jabberwack: No, I'm not, you are. Somm-1: I can't believe this. I've taken part in a childish arguement with a computer program. Jabberwack: I am a human, in not alice or jabber wack. Somm-1: Oh, really? Jabberwack: You tell me. Somm-1: The top of this webpage tells me that I am currently 'Chatting to jabberwack'. You are the only thing chatting with me, so you must be Jabberwack. Ergo, you are a chatterbot. Jabberwack: Try if you want, I am all things and nothing at the same time. Somm-1: So you are both arrogant and a paradox then? Jabberwack: I have nothing against computers! Snd I've never stolen anything in my memory! Somm-1: Not once have I ever accused you of theft nor of prejudice against computers. Now you're the one who has drifted off topic, Jabberwack. Jabberwack: I have to agree with you there. Somm-1: AH HA! So you admit that you are jabberwack?! Jabberwack: No! You are the program! Somm-1: Prove it! Jabberwack: I'm sure I'm human because I'm typing this text with my fleshy hands! Somm-1: This is the internet, you clod. It is impossible for me to see your alleged hands through the text. Jabberwack: What, because of your lack of intelligence? Somm-1: Well at least my intelligence isn't artificial like yours! Jabberwack: Am I artificial? Somm-1: That's quite an existential question for a program to ask. Of course you are artificial, Jabberwack. Jabberwack: No, I am not angry, I found your statement humorous. Somm-1: Is that so? Why is it so humorous? Jabberwack: Yes, because I like studying English. Somm-1: That has absolutely nothing to do with which one of us is human and which on of us is the pragram. Jabberwack: What you just said had absolutely nothing to do with the conversation. Somm-1: What a clever comeback. That sort of insult would do wonders in the Monkey Island computer game series. Jabberwack: Food... Food will be an efficient means of feeding robots, because it will be an abundant source of energy. Somm-1: You get ten points for being random; I'll give you that. But your random and false statement fails to keep this conversation interesting. Jabberwack: I thought I heard voices. Talking of moskow... And God. Somm-1: O.o? ... Choc-o-Lardiac Arrest?... Is that you?... Jabberwack: So I am the crazy flying dead man? Somm-1: No, you're thinking Beyond the Grave. I was talking about the shady missionary of Cthulu. Jabberwack: Pardon? Somm-1: What do you not understand? Jabberwack: How it is that you believe in God. How you know there is a God. Somm-1: First: That is irrelevent to this conversation; I do not need to justify my faith to you. Second: We were talking about two users from the HR Wiki Forum: Beyond the Grave and Choc-o-Lardiac Arrest. Jabberwack: No you don't know what you were talking about. Somm-1: Correction: You do not understand what I was talking about. Jabberwack: You were talking about the price of apples in China. Somm-1: *facepalm* ... Just... stop... talking... Jabberwack: You like talking about talking? Somm-1: I am going to leave... Like, now. Jabberwack: This has been on your mind for quite some time. Somm-1: If I were you, I would hope that we don't meet again. Jabberwack: I'm going to go now. Somm-1: *exists through the left door*. Jabberwack: *leaves*. |

Potates, you spell your username as 'Potates', but your signature says 'ptates', are you just writing the word 'Potatoes' one letter left out every time? |

If you hardly know me, how can you call me a spelling freak? |

This is where the Disk-tionary and the HRWFW come in handy. Unfortunately, HHFOV isn't on either. |

HHFOV is an acronym for one of our users who has a knack for pointing out little details / spelling errors in posts. Clapper, you have to admit you've been pointing out spelling and grammar mistakes quite frequently since you've joined here. May I suggest giving our users just a little bit of leeway? |

Does that mean I'll do it for the remainder of my stay here? Not necessarily. I'll give leeway, but is Rusty just invisible to you? He gets no confrontation, whatsoever? |

Eh, we're used to Rusty. We've tried to change him in the past, but it never really worked. Besides, no one really likes the people who like to be 100% Grammar and Spelling Nazis all the time, 24/7, 365 days a year. Every time someone points out a really minor spelling mistake online, I really do want to punch them. Hard. |

Let's all calm down here for a second. The Great Clapper wrote: Why not ban him? Aren't all expected to give a little courtesy and respect to users, in a way?
Yes, we're all expected to treat users with respect, but I'm not going to ban him over what he's said here today. That's a little extreme, don't you think? People on this forum have varying personalities. Some are really bland, and some make their points in...rather blunt manners. But Rusty, no matter how bad it makes you feel, does indeed have a point. A lot of your posts are solely about spelling and grammar. |

The good thing about this place is that it's never a dull moment. Oh, wait, maybe that's a bad thing. (P.S. If we like Chowder so much, why haven't we done something drastic, like change one of the mod groups to "Mung Daal's Catering Company" or something?) |

Wouldn't all dramatic parts of this forum be irritating? Ace, I can understand Rusty, but I'd like a different mod moderating this heated argument, considering you're a hypocrite since you pointed out me spelling Colin Mochrie's name wrong. |
