The first Sonic Level in Sonic adventure 2is my favorite level in any 3D game, possibly all of gaming.

It fixes the main gripes I had about the 2D sonics. I didn't like how back then whenever you start going fast, there's always some enemy that you couldn't possibly see that you'll run into. I can almost imagine some old Japanese man standing over my shoulder saying "Have fun going fast...but not TOO MUCH fun" Since Sonic Adventure 2 was in 3D, you could actually see where you're going. My second problem with the 2D sonics was that platforming was sluggish, awful, and slowed down the pace of the game. In Adventure 2, almost all platforming was brief and didn't slow down the level

The boarding section was short, and I'm glad for this. It added variety, but wasn't used again which prevented a feeling of repetition. And the Control was Perfect, I almost went through the entire level without thinking realizing I was holding a controller. The best games are ones where it feels like there's a mental link between you and the character on your screen.

The music fit with the mood of the level, and enhance the feeling of speed.

I really wish Sonic Team would make a game that was just sonic and just as awesome as The first level of Sonic Adventure 2.

Tim Buckley is a jerk.

Probably old news, but a fan of CAD decides to devote some time to making some fan movies with the characters. Buckley gets all antsy-pantsy and yells about how fan stuff affects his chance of letting CAD reach TV. Like people want to watch a sterotypical TV show about 20 something gamers.

Buckley's post he made:

Quote:
Well, you f----- up.

The thing about copyrights that I guess you don't quite grasp is that whether you are doing it just for fun, or for profit, using someone else's work without their permission is against the law.

I've said it many times on these very boards, I don't allow anyone to take CAD into their own hands, with the exception of fan art. Especially animation/film. The reason for this is that someday I plan to undertake these projects myself, and in the meantime I don't want some piece of s--- floating around the internet representing my intellectual property.

If CAD is going to make the move to animation or film, it is going to happen under my strict supervision, so that I can make sure it is done right.

You must be in high school, because I'm fairly certain most colleges make you seek permission before adapting/using copyrighted materials into school projects. I don't recall high schools being quite so eager to make sure copyright law was upheld. But it's unfortunate that they didn't teach you that it was illegal.

I've passed this matter along to my lawyer to see what he has to say about it.

-Tim

Even more this is hypocrisy because he is using other people's "intellectual property" frequently in his comics, likely without permission.

Yeah, and then you get to the Tails level (or the knuckles level, I can't remember which came first) and feel "oh eff this".

Oh yes we HATE you and nominating you for Funniest User in the Forum Awards was just an accident we were trying to nominate Teff but we accidentally mispelled it as Somm-1

Some stuff from Straub in the thread in his old CN board on BLC.

God knows how much of this is even remotely substantiatable -- is that a word? -- but I guess Tim showed pictures of his member to some underaged girls, and word got out, and he ended up shutting down a whole wing of his forum as a result.

There's more to the post but...eh...

Straub is awesome. In a world of people like Squidi and Tim Buckley, he's one of the few credible comic makers out there.

He's also friends with the guy who does Ugly Hill, I believe.

Hitherto, spelling mistakes were not corrected for errors, but hopefully we can remedy this in the future.

So, yeah. I just got the whole piano sheet music for "Still Alive" from Portal.

If we have a snow day tomorrow, I think I know what I'll be up to. :p

yeah, Southworth and Straub do guest work for each other a lot. Straub also co-founded BLC with Paul but I think Straub and a few other people left for something else.

Snow days don't exist where I am. And we get plenty of snow.

edit: BTW, speaking of Ugly Hill, go read it. Right now they're in an Evil Dead storyline except with goth kids.
