I absolutely DESPISE FUNKY!

Oh, and I'm not too thrilled about that comic strip you mentioned, either.

For once, I agree with Mini Moose. I wouldn't say it's the worst comic ever, though. That title is reserved for Family Circus.

Family Circus had it's moments.

Personally, I have no idea why B.C. was invented. And why so many people base their work off it.

I'm still in shock that the Boondocks comics ended. :-|

Would it be okay if I renamed this "Non-Web Comic Strips You Love To Hate"?

No, the winner of bad comic wins to the Garfield.

I actually HATE Family Circus.

Seriously, its not funny, witty, or anything. Now if the kids were to cuss at the parents, then it would be funny.

"For Better or For Worse".

What really ticks me off is the fact that in EVERY strip, someone has that weird stare on his or her face. I'm not joking. Read "FWoFW" every day for a week, and you will see at least 7 weird stares.

You mean sexism.

I'm not a fan of those serious comic strips. I mean, that's an oxymoron, really--it's supposed to be COMIC, as in, comical; funny; humorous.

Lol, Family Circuss is genius.

I never really liked BC a whole lot, but I respect it. I despise Garfield and Mallard Fillmore, though.

BC was never my type. Garfield...eh, it's funny at times. It lost it's charm. Family circus...dag. It's just a bunch of puns. Puns=Fail.

Heres one that people haven't mentioned. You've heard of "Cathy", right? Just a bunch of weight problem jokes. Or...last time I checked. Maybe it's that I can't relate to the comic. Yeah...I'm probably biased.

Cathy and Family Circus are certainly on my list. Marmaduke and Ziggy could go on there, too, but every now and then, they actually give me a smile.

I bet furrykef will have a lot to say in this thread :D

Anyways, the least favorite I can think of at the top of my head is...... probably 'Mutts'. There actually have been a few strips that I liked, but the author seems to think every single strip is the greatest thing ever...

I don't like Ginger Meggs or The Wizard of Id very much. They're a little humour deficient.

Do you mean like Opus, Doonesbary and (dead) Boondocks? 'Cause...those are probably the best out there imo.

Mutts has its moments, but it's mostly one of those annoying seven-joke cycle comics. One joke per day of the week, even though they get mixed up every week or so.

I'll toss out my vote for those "serious" comics. Not only is there never enough space in any of them to tell a decent story--I mean, c'mon, folks, they're called the FUNNY pages for a reason.

Even though I have some respect for them, I don't really like "long-standing tradition" comics like Garfield and Peanuts, which are only in the papers because people are used to seeing them there.

I can understand people liking the continuity of being able to expect a bland little "joke" with Charlie Brown or Odie no matter what else in their life may change. But it gets on my nerves, especially when people say things like "Hey, Pumpkin, why don't you draw comics for the papers?"

What, like there are lots of job openings for fresh new blood in syndicated comics? When was the last time Garfield had a new idea in it? Hell, Charles M. Schulz (Peanuts) is dead and Peanuts is still in the papers.

I hate Mallard Fillmore because partisan political stuff doesn't belong on the funny pages because it's NOT FUNNY.

For that reason, I also hate Doonesbury. You don't make me laugh, Gary Trudeau. Get off my funny pages.

Yes, times a thousand. How ever my local paper had a sense of humor. For a while Mallard Fillmore was sandwiched in between Doonesbury and Boondocks, two liberal comics. Boondocks is gone now but Mallard Fillmore is still stuck underneath Doonesbury.
