That's kinda cool.. Definitely seems to be TBC work, although someone could be stealin their look.. Still, Mellow sounds a lot like Bubs meets Strong Bad...
I've never had Mellow Mushroom Pizza before, although I have had Mad Mushroom Pizza in Lexington, KY. It's a pretty pretty good.. I noticed that there is a MellowMushroom in Lexington. Maybe the Lexington Mad Mushroom changed its name.

Well, since I think TBC themselves have said they worked on the site before, I wouldn't have much of a reason to doubt it being their work. Remember, before they were able to live off H*R stuff, they had to do freelance web design.

They're an Atlanta based company. I used to pass by the Sandy Springs, GA store all the time. It was the place where all the hippies hung out.

Wasn't aware that they said they'd worked on it. My bad.

Is this supposed to be a drug reference? You know, with the mushrooms and all?

Considering the chief clientel of the Sandy Springs store, I can honestly say you're not the first to interpret it that way. But its an actual pizza store, so at least the level one meaning is the pizza ingredient.

Oh, I get it- its a campaign site for this "Mellow Mushroom" place... Okay.

Considering its an Atlanta-based company, maybe TBC know the owners? Regardless- this could be a good site if they added a few more toons, a few cooler games, and some other features. Sorta like a companion to the restaurant, instead of an advertisement?

I've never heard of this place. Having seen the site, I'd like to see the restaurant.

There is a Mellow Mushroom pizzaria in Fishers, a suburb north of Indianapolis. The pizza is good. Atmosphere is cool. Imagine my surprise when I looked at the website. I searched a bit, many months ago, but could find no link to h*r until now. Cool!

BTW, how does one live off h*r? The site is non-commercial. This I think is wonderful. I guessed they use it as portfolio material to get commercial work, hence the mellowmushroom site. If TBC has figured out a way to make a living by giving away an excellent non-commercial stream of material, that is nothing short of brilliant. Props to them anyway.

Cheers,
Strong Dad

The site is far from non-commercial: they sell literally tens of thousands (if not more) of shirts, CDs, DVDs, etc., etc. every year, enough to make quite a healthy living. By my estimate, they grossed about $42,000 just on DVD sales in the 15 hours after the DVD was first put up for sale. I'm not kidding. Homestar Runner is TBC's full-time job in every sense of the word, and as far as I know they haven't done any freelance work (apart from small side projects like "Experimental Film") since Mellow Mushroom, and I have a feeling they'll never need to again.

P.S. Welcome to the forum, Strong Dad.

Mellow's not too bad, but I'm wishing that they would update it at least a little more. And I think that it is Missy that provides the voice of Melody.

It is (or used to be) linked from the wiki. TBC designed this site.

Yes, I think that's pretty well-established by now.

I did realize that the site has a store. By "non-commercial", I meant that as a regualar visitor to the site I am not bombarded with "buy this", "on sale now", or "BUY NOW!" messages. Also there is no subscription fee for the site. I really respect that in a web site.

That said, time to order my son a Trogdor T-Shirt. :trogdor:
