Chex Quest. I kept thinking Phlegmoids would appear out of the showerhead. I actually got to the point where I thought Phlegmoids could shapeshift, and they could be anywhere! Creepy. And Chex Quest was supposed to be the kid-friendly version of Doom! |

OH MY GOD I OWN THAT GAME. Ahaha. I remember seeing it in the store as a kid and was all like OHMYGOD MOM BUY ME SOME CHEX IT HAS A VIDEO GAME IN IT!!!! even though I was the kind of kid who only ever ate the uber-sweet sugary cereals (apparently I still am, considering I have two boxes of boo berry sitting about 10 feet away from me right now >> shut up, that stuff is awesome) and never bothered with the "healthy" stuff like chex. and for a video game about a giant piece of cereal fighting snot-monsters, it was surprisingly good :3 I probably still have CD around here... somewhere... um, yes. back on topic, video game moments that have personally creeped me out: - Earthbound. THE FINAL BATTLE. oh god. D: didn't help that it was like 12 at night and completely pitch dark when I first played it too... *jibbly* - Super Metroid, pretty much the whole thing, but especially the ghost ship, and the really creepy music in the item rooms. - um, for some reason when I was little I was TERRIFIED of the first dark world boss in Link to the Past. the big armored dinosaur thing. o_O don't know why, that wasn't even the scariest boss in the game... - on the topic of Zelda, I'm probably the only person who found the forest temple in OoT way creepier than the shadow temple. >> something about it was just really... unsettling. I also find the wind waker redeads scarier than the OoT ones, they looked a lot more... unnatural, somehow. the ones in TP were kinda disappointing though (but way way more annoying and harder to kill). creepiest Zelda enemies ever, though? those headless twilight bird things from TP that make those freaky WROOOONNNKK noises. it freaked me out just having to fight those things in Hyrule Field, but then you get to that one part where you actually have to CONTROL one? JIBBLY! D: heh, for some reason, most of mine are from old games

Oh, that's not good. That kept me up at night. Well, for a little bit. But I can only imagine what would have happened to me if it was 12 at night and pitch dark instead of... I dunno... 9 at night and... moderately well-lit? Also, holy crap! Saturn's posting here! That, like, never happens! Ees a meeracle! |

I have one. In the original paper mario, when that one butler guy fades away after talking to you, then comes right back with a scary face? Yeah thats not that scary, but I was young. Really, I don't play alot of horror games, though I might get Bioshock. THAT looks like a heckuva game. |

The forest temple was really spooky for me, just because when you were walking along, it felt like something was going to attack you. |

I just moved, and I haven't had internet for like three months now. finally got it set up yesterday though, huzzah! really, I would've been posting, but until now getting on the internet involved me packing up my laptop, driving to the bookstore downtown, paying a dollar to park and to make a long story short it was a hassle and I didn't feel like doing it
but I'm officially back on the interwebs now. whee.

Susan wrote: Eternal Darkness is really a freaky game. Its caught me off gaurd a few times. Like when I first saw this:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=3uZOxlpt1vQ The bathtub scene, classic. I've played through Eternal Darkness a few times now and that bit still makes me jump. Some others: F.E.A.R. Extraction Point: The nurse in the maternity ward. Very Silent Hill. Speaking of which... Silent Hill 3: 3rd floor storage room in "dark" Brookhaven. The Silent Hill series has plenty of great moments, one after the other really, but that's my all time favorite. Clive Barker's Undying: One of the best games nobody played. Again, lots of great moments in this one. The final boss is one of the freakiest things I've ever seen in any game. We expect no less from Clive, though. Jericho should be good as well. Scratches: Anyone else heard of this one? It's a point-and-click adventure game. Wonderfully creepy atmosphere. That first trip into the basement is classic. Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers: Despite the now-archaic graphics, the creepy dude who stands outside Gabriel's shop all day is a good bit. Far Cry: Some of the trigen encounters are pretty scary, especially considering how easily those things can kill you. And I'm very much looking forward to Left 4 Dead...nothing beats a good zombie apocalypse. Mike |

When I was 8 I got Earthworm Jim.... Scared the hell out of me... I ended up breaking the game with a hammer so I'd stop having nightmares. |

A lot of people have told me they didn't like the forest temple. I can understand, it's kind of spooky... But the Shadow Temple was way worse for me. Keep in mind I was 8 when I got Ocarina of Time... |

Also, im afraid of every water level from super mario 64, becasue you couldnt attack underwater, i felt defencless and usually died. Also the like-likes from the zelda games, PURE EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!! |

In Blake Stone, there were these guys with green berets who would yell "STOP!!!" very loudly every time they appear. This used to scared the crap out of me, especially since I usually couldn't see them when they did this. Regenerators from Resident Evil 4 disturbed me greatly. The way they walked, and the music that plays when they appear...creeeeeeeepy. |

Isn't that the one where your main weapon was like...a spoon or something? Me and my friend Eric used to play that. Then he got an old copy of Rebel Assault. Ah, 3rd grade. Good times. |

The giant Dr. Salvadors from Resident Evil 4 Mercenaries mode. I always got scared when I heard that chainsaw whirring and had no idea where they were coming from. I have played other RE games, but that's the scariest moment out of the ones I've played. I don't really like any other RE games though. |

there was some kind of super hidden weapon called a SUPER BOOTSPORK or something like that. and you started the game with a spoon but most of the time you used this cattle prod/taser thingy. ...oh my god I cannot believe I remember all that XD |

The game Oblivion gives me the chills at time, especially when things just randomly jump out and attack you. |

Oh man underwater. Whenever I go to a lake or something that has clear water that you can see forever in I think of that giant eel thing from Super Mario 64 and I almost give myself a heart attack. |
