Post subject:  Halloween Costumes
Hey guys, I thought this would be a fun thing to do. Basically, we change our avatars to a "costume" on October 31st. All you need to do is post here on Halloween, and leave the avatar on for a day or so. Then, I'll collect all of the avatars and post them here, just to show off the costumes. It doesn't have to be scary, it just should be different. So... I'll leave it up to your imaginations. Participate!

(Maybe we could turn it into a contest for the best costume, too)

Yes, but the point is to get a new avatar. It doesn't have to look anything like your current one, or like something dressed up.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you meant to say "I want a Dementor avatar".

You can find tons of them on various LiveJournal communities. Oh, beware though, the phrase "Dementor's kiss" takes on a whole new meaning with those people.

Hey, InterruptorJones, while we're on the subject of avatars, what exactly does yours mean? I assume it's some kind of Anti-Bush thing, but I'm not sure.

No Child Left Behind is a misguided national education program started, and then left unfunded, by the Bush administration. Suffice it to say that its name is very ironic, and my avatar pokes fun at it by demonstrating how, er, effective it's been.

Of course, like every joke, it's a lot less funny if you have to explain it.

If you can't tell, the "BUHS" letters those poor college kids are holding up are constructed from BUSH/CHENEY bumper stickers, and no, the photo hasn't been doctored. I stole the original photo from here.

I've already got a plan for my 'Ween avatar, and no, it's not going to be a political one. I don't think.

Since I'm getting kind of bored of the album art of Lincoln (TMBG's best album, in my opinion) as my avatar, I'll switch it over. And it's Ween related at that!

Here's my avatar costume.

Since Halloween falls on Reformation Day, I will probably dress up as Martin Luther in real life, if at all.

FYI, Reformation Day celebrates Martin Luther nailing his 95 Theses to the Wittenberg Church door in 1517.
