P2P isn't necessarily sharing illegal files, but just sharing between peers. So Limewire isn't illegal, the content is illegal.

Edit: Double-simulpost?

You'd get warned and threatened by your ISP and given one more chance if you're caught (but I doubt they monitor traffic). That's what my ISP does.

Why isn't Xerox sued? Why aren't copy machines taken away from the public? After all, you can use copy machines to make illegal copies of copyrighted books, sheet music, and other printed items.

But copy machines can be used to copy non copyrighted things, There's nothing on Limewire that isn't copyrighted.

The machine was built just to share, not to share illegal content. They trust people to use their products for good.

Can you say that for certain? Have you personally monitored every single file that has ever been posted and shared on Limewire?

Man, I downloaded Morpheus just to download a copy of Limewire Pro. I then proceeded to download a copy of Morpheus Ultra, which I then used to download Kazza Pro. At this point, the government had been monitoring me to the extreme. It was then that I noticed a black van outside. I decided to take them.

Now I'm listening to Metalica illegally in prison!

Something else you should know: Limewire slows down your computer...a lot.

I use Limewire all the time and I've never found any porn (unintentionally). The only thing that does fail are the first 10 results you get that are the same everytime that have nothing to do with what you searched. Still, if you download those more then once you're the one who fails.

It doesn't slow it down that much...

On the initial startup it does (Norton has to go through it), but other than that, it's totally fine. At least for me.

Heh...I have Limewire to thank for me having that song...

Also don't you think video game ROMs aren't illegal?

Someone at camp told a me a story about limewire. He missed a tennis game on TV one time, so he downloaded it off of limewire. When he watched it...

...It was a combination between tennis and pr0n, I'll tell you that.

I don't use Limewire so I can be on the safe side, and stay out legal trouble. And from seeing pr0n.

Actually, I don't buy music at all. My sister does, because she is the one with >1500 songs in her library.

So Limewire is useless to me.

Lucky you. My brother uses limewire to download ENTIRE DISCOGRAPHIES of bands at the same time. I've forced him to use the neighbor's wireless when he does that because it slows down our intraweb so much.

Ah, well, there's your problem.

I only get one or two songs at a time and it works fine.

Yes, I think they're illegal.

But as I see it, there's nothing morally wrong with playing a game on your computer if you are able to play it on another system you own. Makes it so I don't have to drag out my SNES and N64.

As well, I'm sure it isn't a problem if I grab a ROM and play a game for ten mins or so before I buy it, just as a Demo. I'm glad I do this, it kept me from buying that awful Toejam and Earl game everyone was saying was so great.
