I searched this up, and no one has done an actual thread on it, so here goes. For those who don't know, Frets on Fire is basically Guitar Hero for your compy (and it's freeware ;) )

I tried it a couple of times when it came out for the first time. Is it true that there are no hammer-on or pull-off functions?

I think there are in the new RF mod for FOF. I'm not sure how you do it, though.

This looks cool, I'll download it tomorrow.

What really caught my attention is that it was programmed in python. I used to be totally into that language before I got into animating.

Blarghfjkdslf, I can't get five stars on Beast and the Harlot (Easy). I always screw up with the verses.

You might want to get back into it if you try 3d modelling. It is the main programming language for blender 3d.

This game looks nice, but I'm just not the biggest guitar hero fan ever.

Looks cool, but I tried/failed downloading on my old Emac. Even if I did get it working, the poor thing only has a 700mHz processor, so it'd probably die or something.

Yeah, definitely. Great thing you get to make you're own songs and mods.

Has anyone tested this theory yet:

Frets on Fire + Guitar Hero controller + Controller Adapter = Epic Win

Yeah but... why not just play Guitar Hero?

Or for that matter, why not just play guitar. You get more weminz that way.

Also, I suck at this game. Where're good songs?

Well, FoF is free, can be modified and you can make custom songs for it. (or dl songs made by others) It's like the Stepmania of guitar games.

For crying out loud, how many times must someone bring out this ever-so futile argument?

playing guitar != playing Guitar Hero

You won't become a guitarist by playing Guitar Hero nor will you automatically master Guitar hero by playing the guitar. I play the game pretty well, but I'm not a guitarist and I can't play the real thing.

End of story.

*coughBUTTTORRENTcough*

Yeah. I'm going down that useless path now, but I know it'll end up to be a wild goose chase somehow. It tends to happen to me. THat and it sucks at the times when it's most needed. That and it's illegal. And the circle of addiction comes around.

Hence, calling it ButtTorrent.

I'm thinking about getting Guitar Hero II for the 360, but I heard you can use the guitar for this game. Is this true, or a dirty, dirty lie?

It's the dirty, dirty truth. The guitar uses USB so you can plug the guitar into your computer and change the controls in FoF.

Here's Trogdor if anyone wants it.
