Do you ever hear words that actually never are spoken/ noises that aren't made? I can remember being real little and hearing things. I heard people calling my name and some weird stuff. I hear it occasionally now, but overall it's nonexistent now. If anyone has ever hear things please post.

You know, occasionally, when you're sitting in class and all of the sudden you'll hear this really high pitched like....thing. It doesn't sound like an actual sound but more like your ears freaking out on you? It usually happens in quiet places for me. I know other people have this, does anyone know what it's all about?

Oh, I hear things all the time. Every time the main office calls people over the PA during passing period, I swear I hear my name. And sometimes I think I'll hear my dad when I'm on the compy at night.

Oh, also, I hear the phone ring when I play the piano. Weird.

Yeah. I've heard the high pitched noise. Also I usually don't hear my name on the PA.

You are either talking about that Cricket ringtone, or that really weird squeeky sound. I get that sometimes too, really creepy.

I read that aliens drain our memories and when they do that we hear a high pitched beep. I think it's a bunch of hogwash, but who knows?

So I'm not alone about the high pitch beeping...I hear that a lot.

I also hear the Ultra sonic high pitch sound some TV make. It hurts. I remember a commercial for The Messengers showing a high pitch beep that only children and teens can hear. Wasn't teens the target audience? Why did they intend on playing that sound if they know that teens can hear it?

This thread reminds me of that mosquito noise that jerks always play in the computer lab. I'm super-sensitive to that. X-(

I get this thing a lot. If I'm not really doing anything, just thinking, and it's really quite, I hear ringing in my ears. I've read about it, and it's not abnormal. But I remember when I was little I would be in my bed, trying to go back to sleep, and I think I see my dad coming down the hallway or standing outside my bedroom. It's so creepy I started crying one time.

I've heard that the high pitched beep was the sound of the central nervous system, but I'm not sure.

As a kid I used to hear my name a lot too, even when no one was around. Last night I kept hearing people's phones ringing, it was creepy and annoying.

I hear music. Not like the kind Mozart, or whoever the devil he was, but like...Good music, uncreated music...Music that I could make...Problem is, I forget how it goes about an hour later.

Mine is like the high pitch of a TV, but it happens in places where there's no electronics around whatsoever.

Yeah, I have that too. I have a field recorder and I sing it out, record it, then transpose it later.

Sometimes when I'm just about to fall asleep I'll hear people talking. It's not like mumbling, it's really clear and I can tell what they're saying. Freaky.

Ugh, one day, some jerk kept playing it through math class. Our teacher couldn't hear it, so we decided to pull a prank on her, telling her that we could hear this high-pitched noise. We had her convinced that it was the air conditioner.

It was funny at first, but then it real annoying real fast. By the end of the period, I was resisting the urge to yell "Shut the f***ing phone off, Kyle!"

I had a migrane that day, too. That hurt.

Are you talking about tinnitus? I usually only hear it when it's quiet, but if I focus on it, I can hear it when I want to. To make it go away, I'll just focus on something else.
I also see floaters, but I've learnt how to ignore them as well.

I sometimes hear a whistling, then I realise it's just my ghetto-licious television.

I see those all the time too. Freaks me out.

as for hearing things, I hear all types of noises. Sometimes, I swear people are talking to me, even though I'm all alone.

Yeah, my neighbor can hear TV pitches. It bugged the crap out of him, so I got his family a plasma screen TV for Chrismas. Those things never squeal.

I hear the high pitched noises, too, I think most people do. Probably something natural with the eardrum.

I can hear the high-pitched TV sound, too, but I only noise it when there's nothing playing (like if it's on video). Some of my friends think it's crazy that I can tell when the TV is on (on video) when I'm just walking down the stairs.

I do that too all the time. There are a lot of times when I have to remember to tell me Dad to turn off the TV, because he left it on the video screen.

I hear the TV all the time. In fact, I can hear it right now. The most annoying thing is when the sattelite goes out and my mom leaves the TV on. It's not doing anything, why endure the noise?

I'll hear a high pitched ring. It's usually up at my Grandparent's house and my Grandpa's hearing aid will act up, but sometimes I can't attribute it to anything if I hear it other places...
And when I was little I would always hear my mom or dad call my name when they really didn't and even now it happens sometimes.

I know exactly what you mean. One of your ears starts ringing, making that high-pitched "eeeeee" sound. I think I remember reading somewhere that's actually not mental, but because of something that actually happens physically in your ears or somethin'.

...Oh, I also get floaters once in a while. Those are really a pain when you're trying to read something.

Isn't that just silence, but you aren't used to hearing nothing, so your brain plays a trick on you or something?

I had no idea tinnitus was that common. When I was little, I thought that the ringing noise was the sound that silence made.

That sounds like auditory hallucinations.

I've seen floaters too, but they are usually in the toilet.
