I have a problem. I love Hometar Runner .com, but two of my best friends absolutly HATE it! I have no idea how to make them like it. They won't even give it a chance! I hate them hating it because if I even mention it they say it sucks and they dis it!

Could everyone please put up suggestions on how to get them to like it?!?

Thanks,
Sbemailman

Don't bother. If they don't want to like it, they're not going to like it, and trying to get them to like it is just a waste of time and energy. Be who you are and let them do the same.

And if they gripe about your liking it, tell them to STCU until they've seen some of your favs on the sight.

Heres what you do:

First things first, you need to paint a bat the colour of Homestar, star and everything.

Next, you gotta go up to their doors with a copy of the Sbemail discs.

Threaten their lives with a beating unless they watch it.

????

Profit.

Or just call them jerks whenever they say it. That works too.

Couldn't agree more. It's GOOD that they don't like it. Helps prove that we all still maintain a semblence of individuality. If everyone liked all the same things, life would be pretty boring. What's important is not that your friends like what you like, but that you guys care about each other as people. I've had friends range everywhere from Fundamentalist Christian Conservatives to Atheist Neo-Nazis. Literally. I was friends with a couple people in high school who supported Hitler. But that issue wasn't what made our friendship work. There's LOADS of things people can relate about, and that always helps build a foundation for a strong, committed, caring friendship. If they don't like HSR, fine. YOU like it, and you don't need the seal of approval from everyone else you'll ever run into in your life just so you can like something.

Ya, I guess you're right. It's just really frustrating when I even mention it (by accident or on purpose) that they just call it retarded and don't even listen.

Why don't you just tell them that you'll all "agree to disagree"? Tell them you understand they don't like it, and they don't have to, but to please not bug you about liking it.

And while you're at it, tell my sister that too. ...I guess I could tell her myself.

Actually, it's weird. She likes a lot of other things similar to Homestar Runner, but she's never seen a full Homestar Runner cartoon.
