Any film by Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright deserves its own thread. Sure does. M'hmm.

Trailer

So has anyone seen it / going to see it?

I actually saw Shaun of the Dead for the first time last night. If this movie is as good, I'm definitely going to see it.

I've had plans to see this since I saw the trailer the first time some months ago. Definately looks hilarious, and Shaun of the Dead rocked.

Judging from the reactions on Rotten Tomatoes, some SOTD fans think it's maybe not as good, but almost. Which is saying something, really.

It's definately got the same solid Britcom vibe, so it'll be interesting to see how it will do in America.

I have seen it, and I would recommend it to all of you guys. It is just as good as Shaun of the Dead, since it is a totally different genre. It's a lot more faster paced than SotD anyway. So, yeah, see it.
And also, if you can, look for the series Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright and co did before their movies, it is called Spaced it went for two series and is the funniest show you will ever see, ever!

^^ This man speaks the truth. Spaced was a fantastic show. Some of the jokes in Shaun of the Dead were borrowed from there.

BTW, I just realised that this thread is a week too early. It's next Friday that it gets its US release. Oops.

Seeing it just because Shaun of the Dead was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

I'm definitely gonna go see that. I don't think I've ever seen an ex-James Bond in a comedy before, so this should be good.

Definitely gonna go see this...I just watched Shaun of the Dead on Comedy Central because of this thread, and it was freaking brilliant.

Awesome! I just finished watching it! I'd say it's better than Shaun of the Dead. Definately like the little bits of unexpectedness, done of course with a flair of British humour.

Eh, I'll probably give it a whirl.

I didn't really like Shaun of the Dead, though. Either it wasn't that good or it was just too hyped for me to like it. I'm not sure.
Somehow, though, I can't escape the feeling that some people like that movie (or say they do) just to look cool.

I'm pretty sure people say they DON'T like that movie to look cool, or sane... I think it's sane. Yep, it's sane.

I just didn't get that movie. There were no car chases, explosions, naked people, or deep philosophical revelations.

Ah, right. Well, Hot Fuzz has those first two you mention--car chases and explosions. Action on a pwnsome level.

2/4 CAN make a good movie. I'll have to add it to my "to see" list.
currently: Grindhouse, ATHFCMFfT, TMNT, and (now)Hot Fuzz.

You've seen it already? Woot, cool. But I heard it wasn't opening in the US until Friday. Is it getting pre-releases then?
