Nothing relieves boredom like playing a game. Setting things on fire also helps, too, but the word "fire" is nowhere in the topic title, but the word "game" is.

What I am simply asking is...have you ever made up a game? (If you say no, YOU LIE.) Ever made up a cool game? (If you say no, YOU MAYBE LIE.) Whether it's a board game, card game, or just...a game, share it here so we can all have something to relieve our state of boredom during those boring days of sheer boring boredom. (Okay, enough of the word "boring")

Three Card Throwdown
(This game is similar to a forum game I made a long while back.) Each player draws 3 cards, but keeps them secret from the other players. Then, each player gets a choice to either keep their hand, swap the 3 cards out for a new hand, or quit entirely. After everybody has done this once, then everybody reveals their hands. The value of each hand is calculated by adding the values of the cards together. Aces are 14, Hearts add an extra number to the value of the card, and the Ace of Spades is equal to the highest of the other two cards of the hand (after adding the Hearts bonus.). Whoever has the highest value wins!
Example: A hand consisting of a 3 of clubs, a 5 of hearts, and an Ace of spades has a value of 15.

My brother & I once made this four-square/tennis/volleyball cross called Bongo Ball that we played in the driveway. It was FUN.

Oh. Lava Monster. Mid 90s. I can't remember if I made it up, or my sister did, or we just copied something we'd already heard, but I do remember how it was played. We were around kindergarten age at the time, so that's way it seems pretty stupid.

It was a variation of the Crocodile, Crocodile game. There was a gutter that ran along the littler kid parts of the playground, and the sides of the gutter got very long and steep right outside the kindergarten area. So all the five year olds would slide on it and tear their pants.

The way the game was played: One kid would be the lava monster and stand in the middle of the gutter; everyone else would try to get to the other side without being touched by the lava monster. Whoever was touched became the new lava monster. It caught on for a while, I think. I remember playing a lot of it.

I'd forgotton about that game. Thanks, Color Printer.

I also remember playing some sort of soccer game with leaves on a trampoline that also involved trivia questions for some reason, but I don't remember the exact rules.

Trash. A card game that I thought up in a dream and then incorperated in real life a long time ago. There's probably a real card game out there very similar to it, but I wouldn't know.

Everybody gets six cards, and then a random card is drawn in the table. If you have a card that matches its suit, you place it down and it goes into the "trash pile". Otherwise, you draw a new card. This continues until someone loses all their cards and wins.

To mix things up, there are bonus "Joker" cards. Using them, they can either take a place of a suit you don't have, or you use them to stick multiple cards of the same suit together to get rid of many cards at once.

I've made up LOTS of board games in my life. I used to make game boards all the time, although I've probably lost most of them. I played with coins and whatever sort of movement system I could plunder from other games, be it die, cards, spinners, or whathaveyou.

My favorite made-up game, though, I made with my friend. We call it Glallyboard. It's sort of the board game equivalent of Calvinball. You make the up the rules as you go along. The only things that generally remain constant are dice, a checkerboard, small glass beads, and an esoteric collection of small monster-shaped figurenes.

I've tried numerous times to makes a board game when I was 4. I just took random objects and random board actions, and put them in each spaces.

---

There was this board/card game I tried to make, but the I couldn't plan out enough monsters. I got pretty far, though. I have elements ranging from. Water, Fire, Swamp, Light, Dark, Rock, Electric, and one unknown purple element. Monsters included a twister, a flaming twister, 4 little sparks that can combine into a big flame, a water thing, a few types of golems, a light and dark snake, a bomb, a mutant crocodile, a tamer, an eel, and one of my favorites, a dice master with about 12 collectible dices.

Never actually made it playable.

---
I had this one game I played with my cousins who are 8 and 12 years older (yeah, they finished college and Law school when I was 13.). It was called: Mud. How do you play it? Simple. You push a person on the brown colored couch. No points or timeouts. Just really fun pushing you cousins on the couch.

Spyrox, your creatures-that-never-amounted-to-anything can join the Nano Beasts, which were a truly massive collection of assorted creatures my friends and I created when we were younger. We actually created them for a series of hand-made books/a "cartoon show" when we were younger, but we did plan out how they would work in video game format. There were a lot of them--over 200. And we planned more. Occasionally I'll draw a funky little creature and dub it a new Nano Beast. It's fun.

Beat the crap out of Kyle
Rules: Beat up annoying kid named Kyle.

Some game I made up for the kids on my street when some stupid new kid moved in, this was about 5 or 6 years ago.

I also made some game that you play on paper a few months ago, but I forget the rules.

Also, in P.E. in 8th grade I made a game like dodgeball, except you don't throw the balls, you have one in each fist, and the balls were squishy and foam.
Basically, each person starts with 10 points, and thrown all over the court were 3 colors of balls, Red, Green, and Blue, and while holding the ball you punch somebody, but it didn't hurt because of the balls. And you lose points when you get hit.

If you get hit by a red ball you lose 1 point
If you get hit by a blue ball you lose 2 points
If you get hit by a blue ball you lose 3 points.

If you lose all points you're out. You all start out with 2 red ones and you could drop them for different colored ones.

The game started out with 5 or so kids and a little corner of a basket ball court, but eventually, it grew, and with 25 or so kids on an entire basketball court, it was chaotic and awesome. We had a rule book and everything.

Ah, yes. You can make the best games with foam balls...

Awesome! Now I remember some!

Tree Ball:
You surround a thick tree. Have a ball. Throw the ball to try to hit the tree. If you miss, you have to touch the tree before someone grabs the ball and drop kicks it. If they do that, you're out. If you throw it and it hits someone and they don't catch it, they're out. If you are out and someone else gets out, your in.

Death Swing:
Get a ton of people to start swinging on one of those really long swing lines. have one person have to run through you in a straight line, not stopping forward motion. If you get hit? Well, you get hit.

Hot Pass:[b]
Have a football. Throw it around as fast as you can. Set a limit, like 10 seconds max you can hold the pall before you get out. If you have it, you can either tag someone to get them out, or throw it to someone. If it hits them, they're out. You get a point for every person you get out.

But I have made up games.
If i counts making a DooM II was w/my friends.
I made the levels but we made DooM II into a platforming race. Like the race mode in WarSow.
4 people try to get to the level exit, you get fragged you go back to the beginning. Lots of jumps and traps. Only made 2 levels and it was very buggy.

If that counts, then all the games I've tried to make with Game Maker must also count somehow... right?

Oooh, I know two board games I had made! Here's one o' thems.

The first one would be this Kirby board game I made several years ago. We had these multi-colored Kirby cut-outs for game pieces. I taped three pieces of paper together and doodled a lengthly board map. You rolled your dice to move, and tried doing 2 or 3 laps to win. Besides the standard "skip one turn", "go x spaces forward/backward", "roll again" spaces, what made it unique were the special abilities Kirby could gain by landing on a patch of special spaces. (There were also Random ability spaces, and "Copy", were Kirby could steal an ability from another player.)

I have the abilities written down somewhere... let's see... the board game is based off of Kirby Superstar and Nightmare in Dreamland mostly.

Wing - Add 1 extra space to whatever you roll, 5 becoming 6, etc.
U.F.O. - No more bad rolls, 1 becomes 4, 2 becomes 5, and 3 becomes 6.
Tornado - Dice rolls are reversed, able to take any direction you want at intersections.
Wheel - One use only. Stop a turn to charge up, and then zip ahead three dice rolls.
Sword - Whenever you pass by someone, they will fall back five spaces.
Ice - Whenever you pass by someone, they will lose their next turn.
Crash - One use only. Blasts anyone in a 10-space radius back five spaces.
Sleep - One use only. Emits a cloud so that anyone in a 10-space radius sleeps and loses a turn.
Fire - Gives you the ability to light the cannon fuse, which activates a cannon for one blast. Whoever reaches the cannon first gets to use it to blast ahead.
Stone - Immune to most effects on the board, both good and bad.

There were also maxim tomatoes which could save you from any bad effects. In closing, I gotta find that thing and take it out of storage. :p

Kirbys forever!!
