Oh, man. I had completely forgotten about those. Wasn't the falcon guy never allowed to change back, or something? I think he was my favorite.

I'm a book geek and still remember...
Tobias stayed in morph for over 2 hours. I think he liked being a hawk better anyway because he had a crappy home life or something.

I thought it was one hour? Oh well, shows how much I know. And I'm pretty sure he got the power to morph again somehow, and I guess turned human again sometimes? But he still kept the hawk as his main form.

You know what I miss from childhood?
Those Vinyl Cling books... They used to come with vinyl "stickers" that you could put in the book wherever you wanted, then, since they only stuck because of static, you could take them off and re-stick them as many times as you wanted.

Those things were awesome.

I had several sticker books, but they were all of the gummed variety. You licked them, but they didn't come off. :( Well, they fell off within the week, usually, but you couldn't purposefully take them off without tearing them.

I don't have anything else to add right now.

We didn't have Magic Schoolbus when I was a kid. We didn't even have the regular type schoolbus. We had to walk to school. Barefoot. In the snow. In 100 degree heat. Uphill. Both ways!!! Wait.. Wait.. That's my dad, not me.
We had a school bus, but I think we had to push it.

My favorite "peel and stick type" books were the Richard Scurry ones, mainly because those were the ones I had.

Also, I remember when fast food restaurants actually had good "giveaway" promotions. Anyone remember when Hardees did the "Gremlins" book + record? THAT, my friends, was the bomb.

The Ellimist, the powerful godlike creature that showed up occaisionally, gave him back his ability to morph at the end of book 13.

When I first read the books when I was ten, Elfangor's death almost made me cry. So did the ending to the first book. Now it makes me sad in a different way. For this reason.

Book 1
Jake: The Andalites will return and save us one day.

Book 53
The Andalites: Here we are to blow up Earth and cripple the Yeerks!

They were so naive in the early books.

Ohhhhhh, that blue guy! He was cool. I almost cried when I read one of the books about him, too. Hehehehe.

We have a Pocahontas one of those.

We had a Winnie the Pooh one.

Anyone remember Fuzzy Felt?

Barbies were pretty cool back in the day, too. Although, i did get two for my 15th birthday, so i guess, they're still cool.

I miss all the innocent learning games we used to have on DOS and stuff in primary school.
Also old cartoons, like DBZ, and transformers.
And really far back, Sesame street and the like.
Woah!

Man, I used to be obsessed with DBZ. Like, I'd tape it every morning, and even get up at six to watch it. Even though it wasn't on until like, eight.

You also sound like my sister. She went on a big action-anime kick when we were younger. She also fell in love with Tenchi Muyo when they showed it on Toonami and occasionally forced me to pretend-play it with her. The only characters from that show I can remember any more were Ryoko and Washu...

FLASHBACK TIME

Anyone ever heard of a fellow named Wally McDoogle?

Oh man, did I EVER love these books when I was a kid. I would read as many as were available at the local library. I think, on a subconcious level, it shaped my humor and morals forever after that point. All that stuff about Christianity apparently went in through my eyes and whizzed right out of my brain though. XD

The percursor to Veggietales, perhaps?

I just bought some AA batteries for the first time in, like, ever. Why? So I could get my old Game Boy up and running again. Game Boys rule all. It feels so odd to be playing all these old games on this tiny screen again, but it IS awesome.

No, not really. For one, I don't think they came before VeggieTales. And they were a heck of a lot crazier, and revolved around this really geeky loser guy. Plus the books involved crazy things like taking a helicopter to the depths of the jungle or getting sent up into space or time travel and stuff like that. Aaaand there weren't any vegetables. But each book did have a moral behind it.
