Wow. Surprising. Nobody has made a thread for the GREATEST GAME ON EARTH. Or at least nobody in the 9 search pages I went through.

Yeah, at this point, it's kinda eaten my life.

I have a Gold Chocobo now, and it rules. It took 2 hours, starting with blue and green chocobos (because I still had them from my failed attempt).

I got Vincent too. Took me long enough. I just realized that when I tried opening the safe before, I forgot to press [Enter] after every number. Silly me.

I went on a trip around the world on my Gold Chocobo, looking for the dune buggy that I got from under Gold Saucer. I CAN'T FIND IT AND I DON'T KNOW WHY.

I took Tifa out of my party, in place of Vincent. I got all "Yeah!"s on her limits every time, but unfortunatley, I was having trouble getting her limit bar up lately. After staying at 0 for like 5 days, resulting in her doing damage in the 100s, I took her out. Dang Premium Heart...

Um, yeah, so share funny experiences, how awesome your party is, why Cait Sith is so much better than Red XIII, whatever, just talk about FFVII.

I liked FFVII, but I didn't really see what all the hype is about. I like IX better, as well as most of the ones before VII.

I don't see what makes it stand out. The materia system is pretty stupid, I think. Apart from limit breaks and equipment, there's no real difference between the characters. The storyline was all right, but it wasn't anything really original.

True Zeno.
IX was by far better. VII had its high points, but a 3 person party and cheesy FMV kinda staled the experience. I wish this was just a plain ol' final fantasy thread.

I haven't played FFVII yet, though I wish too. Right now I've been playing X. I love it.

FF7 is sweet but I think it is not the best RPG ever (for some as I believe the best RPG different for person to person)

I loved the Materia System and Limit Breaks, people say that Materia gives the game to much customability, but for me there can never be enough customablility.

I think FF7 is a bit overated though (but what good, successful game isn't?)

I played that for a while. I got up to fighting the boss on the airship, then stopped playing, for some reason...

I should keep going...

I always thought of FF7 vs FF9 as brussel sprouts vs candy or like Mozart vs the Ramones.

FF7 is more "Japanese", if you know what I mean. That can make it not-fun for a lot of not-Japanese.

I forgot to ask before, has anyone seen Advent Children or played Dirge of Cerberus?

I've seen Advent Children, and I thought it rocked.

exactly! i don't really compare various FF games, usually because they all tend to rock on each of their various merits. so yeah, i love FFVII unapologetically. my friends and i were nuts over it in jr high and high school, and i still whip it out now n then.

off topic, but: 12 is sweet, too. its so different, and i just started playing it yesterday, but i gotta admit, its pretty awesome-socks.

I haven't even played Final Fantasy VII and I know that you can't get Aeris back. I hear that you can hack the game, or at least the first disk, to put her in your party after she dies, but hacking doesn't really count.

FFVII isn't the best in the Final Fantasy Series, but it is the most important. If it wasn't for FFVII, PSOne would not have been the dominating system that it was and the entire RPG genre would not be as big in the US as it is today. That and it gave us the coolest villain and coolest boss theme of all time.

If Final Fantasy XI is candy, The Ramones, and not Japan, I want it now.

But I don't play videro games much, meaning I've never played Final Fantasy. Meh.

I didn't fight him in Final Fantasy VII, but I did in Kingdom Hearts II, and all I have to say is that anyone who can beat me that many times(about 30) is one heck of a boss.
