That's what Sprite is, and 7-Up.

Soda. Here, lemonade is that yummy stuff made with sugar and lemons that little kids sell at crappy little stands during the summer.

The clever thing about the 'cold one' is that while i'm sure TBC see them as alcoholic, as i do, they dont have to be, for the kiddies!

Or, if you happen to live in Rhode Island, Dell's. No kids put up lemonade stands here because we have Dell's lemonade trucks that sell lemonade like ice-cream vans.

Wow, that computer company sells lemonade as well? Man, when they see a chance to make more money, they take it. :p

But yeah, to what Coz said, while it may in all reasonable logic be alcoholic,TBC can throw us a curveball and make it a soda.

So far, all signs point toward Cold Ones being a beer. Funny thing is, in Free Country, soy sauce is more alcoholic than Cold Ones :p

I vote alcoholic. The term "cold one" is almost always used for a cold beer. The BC obviously wouldn't want to say that "cold ones" are an alcoholic beverage to keep their child fan base.

I definitely think that Cold Ones are alcoholic, and my reasons have already been pretty well hashed out.

Mainly because TBC don't have an aversion to alcohol or other minor drugs like cigarettes.

Personally, I think it's soda. ;)

I think Cold Ones are alcoholic... Purely because you get them in brown bottles. I can't think of any soft drinks that are sold in brown bottles.

^ We don't really have Root Beer in the UK.

Anyways... Root Beer has beer in the title... Therefore it carries conotations of alcohol-ness-stuff. :p

Cold Ones are alcohol. Sorry if I can't think up a good argument for it, but I just can't. It's a hunch.

Cold ones are definetly alchoholic. Though I think when they first appeared in "Where is my Hat at?" they were soda. Oh, and Pizzatrophy in what strange land is soda considered lemonade?
EDIT: NVM Austrialians!

I refuse to believe that our dear H*R buddies are drunkards. It's soda in my heart forever. (Soy sauce is the alcoholic beverage of choice in Free Country, anyway.)

Well, we all know that Coach Z likes the alcohol, as seen in a few toons.

I reiterate my previous argument. Cold Ones are definitely alcoholic for two reasons:

(1) The Kerrek, a teetotaler, is offended when you buy him one. If Cold Ones were non-alcoholic, he would not have been offended that way.

(2) In SBemail 39, Strong Bad refers to Ones from Foreign Lands. The Warm One label calls it Liquid Bread. This is a nickname for beer (because it is made from grain), particularly thick beers like Irish Stouts. This nickname was coined during the Prohibition Era, when Anheiser Busch and other German brewers attempted to keep beer legal by arguing that it was primarily for nutritional value (unlike liquor, which was just for intoxification). The argument didn't hold, and beer was outlawed along with all alcoholic beverages except sacramental wine.

Also, I must venture to correct something: Alcohol Use does not equal Drunkenness. Nor is it a sin to drink. If Jesus drank wine, then there's nothing wrong with it. A person can drink responsibly and with moderation. There's nothing wrong with an occasional Cold One, as long as you're legal drinking age, don't operate a motor vehicle, and don't get drunk.

The suffix "-ade" says to me a fizzy soda drink.
Eg, Lemonade

Um....as far as I know lemonade is juice.. ..you know made from...lemons?

Lemonade can be a juice when it's home-made, but the lemonade you buy at shops and get in restaurants are fizzy. I don't know where you can buy non-fizzy lemonade.

In Canada and France, lemonade is the name for carbonated lemon soda. I learned that in French class. Here, it's a lemon juice drink made with lemon juice, sugar, and water, and you can buy it either in stores or at home.

CULTURAL CLEARUP'D!

The French word for fizzy lemonade is "une limonade".
The French word for normal lemonade is "un citron pressé".

That's news to me.

Perhaps in Quebec, or other French-speaking communities. But in most of the country, lemonade is the sweetened lemon juice that everyone knows and loves. I have never had lemon soda, nor have I ever heard the word lemonade as referring to anything carbonated at all.
