This dreaded period of one that we shall never forget. I, along with very many other viewers, were extremely depressed during this 35 days with no updates of the SBemails. Lol. Well, not depressed, just disapointed. I want to know what you did over this period of time, wether it was wathing other toons, staying away from H*R completely, or curling up in a closed for the 35 days.

We cried that TBC didn't love us anymore.

A word of warning: the moment insults start getting flung, this topic will be locked away forever.

I sat back, waiting patiently, listened to cries of "they don't love us anymore!", made fun of people who were all "THEY OWE US A NEW TOON!!", and drooled at the thought of the awesomeness of the new toons they were gonna give us.

Looking at the first 3 offerings, that drool was not drooled in vain..

I like the title of this, but I would change it to the Great Drought of December Ought Five.. Sounds more old-timery (old-timerish?), like when your grandparents would tell you about walking 20 miles to school.... barefoot... uphill both ways... with waist high snow drifts... in 90 degree heat....

I was maybe a little disappointed, and I still don't think the 'nothing else' thing was the best idea in the world, but somehow I knew that TBC would come back from the drought in good shape, and I'd say the last couple E-mails, plus the Trogday toon, have fully made up for it.

What I think happened is that they had either a good chunk of either high school or death metal complete (possibly even both of them started), but had a lot of trouble finishing them, and maybe because of that they didn't have the time to get a Decemberween toon together. I'm pretty confident we'll most likely get that Decemberween toon in July, though, so that won't matter too much.

Lunar, I didn't post this topic to insult other people, TBC, or whoever. All I wanted was to know what people did during that time. I thought it would make for a decent topic.

I see how this could end up in insults, but you shouldn't lock the topic, you should lock the people who start the insults and ruin the topic.

Sigh... I guess...

But you should be able to lock people! They can do that in the wiki for the editors! But w/e, lol.

Get back on topic now! Disregard the above!

I just continued visiting the forum. I watched a few old things, but I calmly waited.

Well, it was the holiday-thyme, so I knew they deserved a break. But I would still go there everyday to see if there was an update. When I found that thier wasn't one, I would hang around here. I also watched a whole lot of Bonus Stage.

They just needed a break from HSR, I guess. You know what Strong Bad says: Too much of a good thing is an awesome thing, but too much of an awesome thing is um...really dumb, and bad.

I died on the inside. :P

I went on with the rest of the things that make up with my life, and also watched the DVDs.

I behaved like a normal person instead of a desperately whining moron. Case closed.

I also spent my time on DeviantART and wondering if it was a conspiracy that H*R and Bonus Stage went dry at the same time.

It was all cool. They're definitley making up for it though(2 e-mails and a toon in one week or so).

Has anyone suggested yet that "nothing else" was simply to show that the button was working? Yeah, it was a bit of a joke, but I think mainly it was to let us know that the button wasn't stuck on "new strong bad email". Since they didn't have any other content to toggle between, they just let us know, essentially, "We got nothin' else right this second." But the fact that we've gotten three updates in the span of nine days means they do care after all.

I took advantage of the break to clean out some old STUFFs, help Tom upgrade the security and fix software bugs, and add some new features to the wiki.

I thought that might be the case, but I wasn't for sure. Using "nothing else" as a placeholder was better than just saying "null" or "placeholder"

Back in My day We had to go for a month without HSR.
I like the name "The Drought of Dec. 4, 2005, to Jan.8, 2006" makes it sound like We survived something, like "I survived the drought of 05".

Drought of '05 is cool, but you gotta pronounce '05 as "Ought Five".. It sounds all old-timey. Granny C would approve. (is it strange that I call her Granny when I'm older than her?)

At any rate, I think it's awesome that the fellas are back. The toons definitely show that the break did was a good thing.

They've "come up to bat" 3 times since the hiatus, and they've knocked it out of the park all 3 times.

Will #4 rock as hard as #'s 1,2, and 3? Stay tuned to see.

I was desperately checking the site every hour of every day. Even a new quote/fanart/sketch would be ok. But after two weeks I sort of migrated over to http://www.knoxskorner.com.
When i saw that highschool was up I nearly fell out of my chair (Literally if it weren't for the sofa behin me I'd have a concussion right now)

I'm gonna tell this story to my grandkids. There was a giant drought, and everybody complained because they "don't care about their fans."

Click. Refresh. Click. Refresh. Click. Refresh.

Repeatedly.

Every day.

I was kinda desperate. I think I depend on H*R for entertainment instead of TV so I was kinda mehhed about it but I just watched the older stuff instead.

I think the 'nothing else' button was a sort of nod towards fans. Kind of like, "Yeah. That's it." because I know *I* was thinking, "New SB Email... And...? AND?!"

Actually, I investigated the Wiki, as I didn't know it even existed until a short while ago :).

Then I found the forum and read that, so I wasn't H*R starved by any means!

At the rate they're going, I can't see why not. The three new things have been great.

To tell you the truth I probably wouldn't've even noticed the 'drout' for at least a month if it weren't for the forum. Not that I don't check the site a lot, because I do, but because I don't really keep track of when the last update was & stuff. I've loved all three things since the month drout.

Eh, I hardly noticed it. I kinda come in and out of H*R, so when I return, I always have a ton of new things waiting for me =P

Plus, my DVDs keep my warm at night.

I think it's funny that people got worked up over it. I was kinda dissappointed all those Mondays, when there were no updates, and I wanted to kill Coach Z on numerous occasions (fhat the wuck is a matermort?!?), but other than that, I made it through ok.

What I did?
Well, I kept gnawing on my shirt a lot, pulled lots of hair from my head, cried for hours every day, lost a lot of sleep, skipped school for about a week to visit homestarrunner.com every few hours a day, got an ulcer from all the stress caused by excitement (followed by disappointment), broke my F5 when repeatedly trying to refresh the main page, stopped eating after about two weeks of no updates, cursed and shouted bad things about TBC while throwing random objects across the room.. Oh, and I joined this forum.

Seriously, though, I guess they were just taking a break. A long, mysterious break, yes, and I still wonder why they didn't say anything about taking a break or what was taking so long.
Busy with H*R orders, maybe? After all, it took about 20 days just to confirm my order.
