I think you guys missed the sarcasm in this post.

Quote:
I’m starting to get worried about TBC you guys. It’s been over three days now and there still hasn’t been any new updates to the site. The quote, sketchbook, and fan stuff hasn’t been updated in a while, and what about Stepfather’s Day that was on January 9th? They didn’t do a toon for that.

I know TBC are busy guys and all, but seriously, I’m getting really worried. They should at least put up a bubble that says what’s going on.

The only thing I can think of is that they’re putting together something extra special for Martin Luther King Jr Day on Monday. Or maybe there’s a virus going around infecting only creative geniuses who use Macromedia Flash.

I hope they update soon so we can all stop worrying!!!!

Btw, i think some admins are a little lock-topic happy.

Yeah, I would have pointed out the same thing if the thread hadn't gotten locked first. I thought that post was very amusing.

But ussually topics that dont have a discussion point without going off topic are considered spaaaaaaam!

on a little off topic note....muskegon rocks!!! i love the sand dunes in that one campground...me and my sister once walked from one campground to the other, on the beach. (from that one campground that has ruth ann's in the back(sorta) to a bit further than the lighthouses.)

I have NO idea if you even know what im talking about, but if you did, thatd be pretty cool.

Ya...It was funny and all, but making an entire topic just for that joke was a bit...Much.

It's just because a lot of those usually end up in a mild flame war (steam war, maybe?) between those who thing that TBC have to release at least 1 toon every week, and those of us who are "meh, let them do their thing in their time, they owe you nothing"..

They don't usually lock many topics, unless they've already been posted, belong in another thread, or just generally don't like them..

Sarcasm on a board almost never comes through that way.. Text just doesn't carry inflection.

You're cool, though..

I'm just highly amused by how many people actually took that entire post seriously. I mean, Stepfather's Day and A Martin Luther King, Jr. Day toon? Haha.

Ya, it's hard to express sarcasm. Maybe you could use this guy  but unless you think about it a little, it's still might not do it for some people.

I find that the [/sarcasm] is, quite possibly, the best way to convey sarcasm.

That might be true sometimes, but I think the humor of the original post would have been killed if at the end there was a message that said "This Is a Joke!"

It's a fine line you walk when you write a parody, between being too obvious and being too subtle. Part of the magic, and the drawback, is the risk in knowing that not everyone will get it.

Stu locked the topic because there was nothing to discuss beside "lol" and "wtf jelo bee y did u knot get teh joek?????" We prefer topics of discussion, even ones like this, over topics with no substance.

i guess i dont see the problem with that. yes, its annoying. but, if you know a thread is annoying why read it? let those who want to talk about it talk about it and if it annoys you dont read it.

most of the topics i have seen them lock fall into the last category.

true. in this case, i think common sense does help though. i mean Stepfather's Day? seriously.

I locked the topic because there is already a topic about the missing-ness of TBC. If you want to make a joke about it.... MAKE IT OVER THERE. /sheesh :)

Edit::

My apologies to the OP, I hadn't noticed that the original missing tbc post was locked.
