It's that time again. Since we can't legally sell any products or advertising space on the site, a pledge drive is the only way for us to afford the cost of our new dedicated server. This pledge drive will be held from Monday, October 24, to Monday, November 14, 2005. We'd like to raise US$2,000. With this amount, we will have enough to cover hosting costs for a little over six months. This might sound like a lot of money, but please don't feel obligated to donate large amounts just to reach our goal. If only 200 users donate US$10, we'll raise the entire amount. We currently have over three thousand registered users on the wiki, and at least 200 of those should be actively participating on the site. If you use the site often, US$10 is a small amount to ask for six months. If you are a power user (you know who you are), US$20 is still quite a reasonable amount. Here is a link to the Wiki Page: http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/HRWiki: ... edge_Drive |

According to this it looks like there wasn't one last year. |

The last one I remember was the 2005 Spring Pledge Drive. |

The last pledge drive (and the first one) took place last Spring, where we needed to get $1,000 to pay for a whole years worth. But then, due to switching servers to kill bandwidth problems, the price went up from $50/month to something like $240/month. So now we're doing it again for $2,000 to pay for the next 6 or so months. |

Note however that the 2005 Spring Pledge Drive only netted the Wiki $835 and not the $1,000 we were going for. |

Even if you mailed a foreign currency to JoeyDay, I'm sure he'd be able to convert it at a local bank. |

You guys make this sound like public radio. Do I get a tote bag?
Anydangway, I will donate as much as I can spare. Not much, but I will try. Do we actually have any Japanese users to take advantage of the Yen link? |

oh, good, I can easily mail a donation. I ave some money lying around, i don't buy things. At all. My most expensive purchase in the last three months was probably some gum while I was going to buy some toothpaste, which my parents were paying for. (but I bought the gum_) So yeah, I'll try to get around to donating. |

I recommend avoiding mailing cash if possible. Consider spending $0.37 on a money order at Wal-Mart (or $0.90 at the Post Office) just to be safe. |

Dag, yo. I hate to sound like a broken record, but I just can't donate now. Perhaps in a few years. Although I might be able to sneak some money in a letter while my parents aren't looking...

I just managed to give ten dollars. I probably am a "power user", but ten bucks was all I could muster. |

I'm one of those people who would donate, if only my parents would let me. Once I can decide what I do with my money, as opposed to my dad, I will definitely give up some dough. But I think another reason my parents don't want me to donate is so this site will decay, and I won't waste my life on it. |

I'm going to mail some money. I don't really know how to send it any other way than just straight cash, though... and... maybe that isn't the safest thing to do with 40 dollars... Um, any help? |
