Cool. We're updating to a new version. Sweet.

But could they have warned us first?!?!?

EDIT: Very, very odd: It's only on the fanstuff wiki.

We upgrade MediaWiki and phpBB several times a month(well, to be fair, Tom does it), and it doesn't take very long. Often nobody even notices.

I'm sure he's trying out 1.5.0 on the fanstuff first to insure a smooth upgrade on the main wiki.

Another thing: I really don't like the idea of doing the fanstuff first, because if everything got deleted...everyone would be seriously ticked off.

Um.. if everything on the main wiki got deleted, a lot more people would be seriously ticked off.

Anyway, Tom always makes a complete backup before upgrading.

I don't seem to remember having any warranty for the fanstuff wiki.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that the fanstuff wiki is provided as a service in the hope that it will be useful, but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Seriously folks, keep your pants on.

It's finished...but we SERIOUSLY need to work out all the bugs/missing images/annoying crap before moving on to the knowlodge base.

MOST OF THE STUFF DID GET DELETED! I just went to the Sbemail wiki page, and all but 7 email pages are pages that don't exist!

The problem with the sbemails is they start with lowercase letters.

If you've ever been to Wikipedia you'd notice that all their articles start with uppercase letters, even the ones that shouldn't (it's full of "This page's title is incorrect because of technical limitations" messages) - it seems this is a default option in MediaWiki, and we had it turned on.

So when you get to an email, say "some kinda robot", the link actually goes to "Some kinda robot" which doesn't exist.

This seems to have since been fixed for normal pages, but it's still broken for logging in (when I tried to login as phlip it would complain there is no username Phlip) - Tom has said he probably can't fix this, so I recreated my account as Phlip - no big hassle there, but means I now have two contribs pages in my sig...
