I was browsing around on some of the boards I visit sometimes, and there was a post on one showing an upcoming trading card game thing with the characters from MK and SF. I was browsing around and what did I see? That's right! A homestar reference is ON one of the cards!!!

Niiiiice. Here's the site it came from, in case you think I shopped it or something.

http://www.epicbattlestcg.com/preview.cfm

scroll down to "Mortal Kombat List" and under "COMMON" you'll see it.

I don't know. There may be a reference, but it could also be just a stupid coincidence... It's cool if it isn't though.

It's certainly possible it could be a reference, but 'ARROWED!' isn't necessarily unique enough to the H*R/TGS world that this can't be dismissed as coincidence either. Pretty good find, though.

It would be less of a stretch if it was "ARROW'D". But I dunno...

Come on, seriously, I'm sure the phrase "________ED!" is common, but "ARROWED!"? Who walks around saying "ARROWED!"? I've never really thought of saying "I just got arrowed" rather than "I just got show by an arrow".

Ohhhhhhh man, that's cool.

Seriously. That's gotta be a Homestar reference.

I'm agreeing with you there. It does seem like it'd be too much of a coincidence. If they are fans, then that's like, awesome.

They probably opted for "ARROWED" instead of "ARROW'D" for the sake of grammar. Though they used three exclamation points, so maybe not...

Regardless, still pretty cool.

Ah... now that I go back and check, DG is correct. The card has the exact same "ARROWED!!!" that appears in TGS #1.

This is what I get for not fact-checking. :-|

For some reason, I'm wanting to think we've had this discussion before. I've seen 'D! and ED! things before H*R. I mean, cool as they are, TBC don't own those things (at least not yet).
It'd be cool if it was a ref, though.
They are slowly taking over the world... Next up, Chap-Mart

I think it's just a case of finding connections where none exist. Still pretty neat though.

If it was RANDOM NOUN'd or RANDOM NOUNED!!! then I'd think so, but it's one that actually appeared on the site, so I think otherwise. Personally, I think that all of those burninate-type things are stretches.

Actually, Neopets had made 2 references before, so it might be a reference.
