Hey, I missed the last awards by one day...
I coulda easily beaten Acekirby!

It's unfair that I can't win new user next year because I was here for the awards. Because I wasn't here while people were being nominated so I should be allowed a chance next year.

No, you won't. Sorry, but the REAL rule (thanks to MHG) is within three months of the nomination. You will have been here for over three months when January of 2006 rolls out. So, sorry, but tough luck.

That doesn't seem particularly fair to me. Why should anyone be permanently disqualified from winning an award just because they joined the forum at the wrong time of year? I consider anybody who joined in the last 6 months to be a new user.
