I always find it quite funny that when Homestar is shirtless, they pixelate out his body.. especially because Strong Bad is shirtless without pixelation, as is Strong Sad, The Cheat and possibly Coach Z.

Sometimes, from a purely scientific level of curiousity, I wonder what Homestar's body would look like. I assume that it would just be flat and white. Also, I'm confused that it appears that all he wears is a shirt and propellor cap [no undawears or pants]. Does he wear shoes, or are those his feet?

Okay, I realize these questions probably aren't answerable, but I just wanted to get that offa my chest.

Early on they probably were meant to be his shoes (check out Marshmellow's Last Stand!), but now they'd probably make 'em out to be his feet.

TBC seems to avoid answering questions like that, though ... How KoT's VCR interview says he won't disclose WHY he has a poopsmith, and Strong Bad didn't exactly answer the why either in "old comics" ... And Coach Z didn't answer Strong Bad's question about whether his body was green or if he was just wearing a green body suit. "Oh, I got footies alright ... athelete's footies!"

They love torturing us, they do!

He wears shoes. If they were his feet then The Cheat wouldn't have given him shoes in "New Boots". They also pixelate him just for a joke. Since it's a cartoon, things that don't make sense are either for jokes or just happen to be that way because, well... it's a cartoon. It would be boring if everything made sense all of the time.

Not that "The Cheat" animation is reliable, but in "New Boots" he takes his shoe off. Homestar, that is

I believe that I have already pointed this out in my previous post. The Cheat probably wouldn't change Homestar's body (if his "shoes" were his feet).

Maybe, maybe not ... but then, The Cheat made Coach Z pink (at times), gave Strong Bad underwear and purple boxing gloves ... so who knows. D:

That makes for an interesting question though; if TBC have made out Homestar's shoes to be his actual feet, how did he get that sneaker-like imprint of his star (again see Marshmellow's Last Stand) on 'em?

As far as the pixellated body, I agree, they're probably just making fun of TV censorship.

Good point. The bottom of his "shoes" have blue lines like sneakers might have. I don't think TBC would have the bottom of his feet look like that.

They blur out Homestar's body to be funny, and because they don't want you to see his crotch. This is only a PG rated site. They wouldn't actually show parts. Oh, and the reason they don't blur out Strong Bad's body when shirtless is because he's already wearing pants, so nothing is showing.

Well, obviously none of them really have any "parts" to be shown. But since Homestar is one of the few covered most of the time, it can be funny to pixelate him.

All in all, the characters have vastly evolved from their simple original idea. But not so much in appearance.

Personally, I think it'd be funny if StrongBad took his boxing gloves off and they pixelated his hands. heh.

Yeah, Strong Bad's hands are the boxing gloves, they are not covering his hands. There has been many a discussions about that theory.

Oy oy oy! That is definitely one of my H*R theory hot spots- and that theory seems to be the most commonly agreed upon.

Read my li... er, fingers... SIMPLE JOKE! Strong Bad is only avoding a much larger question in scale, and most people stupidly decide to take him literally. Its exactly the same as Coach Z's "Athlete's footie" remark- avoiding the question!

I wouldn't really say it's a dress/kilt, just a long shirt that covers up his you-know-what. Of course, if he really does wear long pants, the pixellation wouldn't be necessary.

this question was asked of strongbad (sorta) in sb email 127...

entitled "long pants"...

strongbad gets an email asking almost the exact question about homestar not wearing pants...

enter homestar wearing purple daisy dukes... *ding*, strongbad asks him why he doesn't wear pants and homestar goes nuts. "i wear long pants! i'ma long pants man! i wear long pants! everybody! everybody! long pants! long pants! long pants!" he runs off, the daisy dukes falling off and landing on strongbad's foot. the cheat comes in and torches them after strongbad kicks them to the floor.

i guess he wears long pants. :hr:
