Oh wait. I lied in my last post. I had to make a game in Year 12 programming. The mechanics of the game were specified by the teacher, but the graphics and popups could be whatever. So I made it Homestar Runner themed. You play as Strong Bad, who, from the the Stick, goes around punching (walking on) random people in the Field, before returning to the Stick. He is hindered in this by the Kerrek, Arrow'd Guy, a bottomless pit, and the Heavy Lourde. It was kind of fun to play.

A couple years ago an English student of mine (who knew I was a H*R fan) turned in an essay for my Comp. I class...(a narrative, I think)... he included the battery diagram from "english paper" and taped money to the back page as a joke. The rest of the class couldn't figure out why I was cracking up! I believe he got an A...his paper really was good, but the "bribe" helped a little! (kidding!)

My philosophy prof from freshman year (college) once received a paper from one of his students that used the "eating one battery" on one of the pages, with the caption "Irrelevant diagram" added at the top. He copied it, cut out the diagram, and has it taped to his office door. He didn't know where it came from until I told him.

I also frequently used the text of "A Well Thought-Out Englilsh Paper" as lorem ipsum in my graphic design assignments a couple times. Only problem is, it's too dang short for most purposes!

I have never used Homestar for a project. I have never had to. I've used South Park a few times but not Homestar.

With this thread as inspiration, I used HR as a project. I did a PowerPoint presentation in June or so about why you should visit homestarrunner.com. It was for a speech class. Woot.

I forgot I used the english paper (not for a project or assignment, but close enough ) as a prank to writing center tutors. The guy who was reviewing it had not a clue it was a joke, and was giving serious ideas. I modified it slightly to make it a bit less obvious (changed it to my name, edited out the reference to Strong Bad and The Cheat, and I think one other thing). I hadn't thought of anything beforehand to explain the things in it, but as he asked about them - the last sentence of each paragraph didn't seem to fit, among other things - I thought of semi-plausible explanations that he actually bought. He still told me I should change it, of course. But then when he turned the page to the visual aids I just couldn't stop laughing! He looked really puzzled and then I explained it to him. He wasn't the least bit amused.

"Sorry if I wasted your time."
"Yeah, you kinda did."

I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

But yes, i have done a really awsome homestar project in school before.
In grade five we were on our electricity unit and were supposed to make miniature floats that would be used for a parade down our school hallway that never happened. The requirements for our float was that we had to have a light and something moving on it. The mini motors, mini lights, and batterys were provided by the school of course...
SO WE MADE A HOMESTAR FLOAT! Made entirely out of ink, paper, and cardboard! It included on the right hand side Bubs consession stand. Pom pom was in the stand helping bubs i think, and on the side of the building, there was a light up "Light globes homestar" from Long Pants, and beside him was a rapidly spinning homsar attatched to the motor.
On the right of the float was uhhh... Trying to remember, been a long time... Strong badia, with coach Z in the ground by the WE ARE THE SCORPIONS box (from your friends; coach Z replaces homsar because homsar was needed to SPIN!)I think marzipan was standing somewhere, and strong bad was hiding behind the strong badian fence holding a rope, which was holding a HEAVY LOURDE above her head, and strong mad was also off on the sidelines. And i through a few charactars such as the KOT on the string used to pull the float, and some crappy banners on the bottom sides of the floats promoting the website or naming the main charactars and crap. Still quite ticked at myself for not taking a picture of that; twas VERY fun. Twas also very four years ago... Oh and we also had to make a "garage" (cardboard box, kid) to put the float it. And it had to have an alarm. Mine, if you opened it, had a giant homsar pop up in the middle of the doorway, and some mini buzzer went off.

My story pales in comparision to the rest of you people but w/e: Police officer came to our school to talk about drugs, we made booklets about drugs, at the bibliography I threw in a "And remember, don't do drugs!" with Homestar going "Sewiously."

I remember back in Year 10 i used a picture of the Shot-gunned Compy for a presentation. I basically described what I wanted to do with my old computer, which barely worked.
Sweet Lady Irony paid us a visit back in July. It died.

Anyway, for College we've been given the task of studying music videos and presenting our analysis on one.
No prizes for guessing which one I've chosen.

I didn't have pictures of it, but today I did a great thing at school.

The teacher gave us a sheet with a Christmas story, and I turned it as something HRish.

First, I bend it to make a leaflet. In front of it, I draw the "We're always awesome!" logo and wrote this:

On the back, I draw Bubs' stand and the Drive-Thru Whale. But the awesomer thing is inside.

First, I replaced everywhere "Christmas" with "Decemberween".

Under the title I wrote "By Leomard Sportsinterviews", with the name erased and replaced with Strong Bad's one.

In the story, I added three lines.

""Holy Crap!" said Strong Bad."
"Sadly, Strong Sad died, smashed by the tree."
"Because Trogdor burninate all of us."

Under the last line I draw Trogdor, and in the other page I draw Marshie with a Santa hat and the phrase:
"Fluffy Puff Decembermalloween Marshmallows: They still taste the same, but still look different!"

I am actually doing a report on the great website for Creative Writing!

Why Homestar Runner is so Awesome is the subject I chose for my schools annual speech writing competition.

We have to make an underwater habitat diorama for Marine Science. I'm gonna try and make it look like from the top.

Also, once, we had to write an essay it was a state wide thingy. When I finished, as a proofread it, I realized I kept putting 'd instead of ed. (The essay was your favorite thing, I did the essay on Homestar Runner)

The beginning was like this.

Many people like different things. My favorite thing in the world is Homestar Runner. It is my favorite thing for many different reasons. Three of them are, it is awesome, it's better than tv, and it's cool.

To begin with, Homestar Runner is awesome. I am addict'd to it! Seriously. Once, I watch'd it until 4:00 am!

I ended the essay with "And that's why naked Coach Z gave me the jibblies. Ahh, jibblie, jibblie, jibblie.

To everyone who actually turned in the well-thought out englilish paper, I must say, mad props.

I convinced my english teacher to show the whole class SB's grammar songs once. It was sweet. "...if it's supposed to be a contraction, then it's I-T-apostrophe-S! Scalawag!"

Also, in an art class, we were supposed to make a clay pot, either thrown on the wheel or coil based. Everyone was making a snake for their coil pots, so I made a snake... er... Dragon. It took forever to ge his wings to stay on.
I still use the Trogdorpot as a change jar.

I was going to put the "Born to be Danged" poster in my inspiration board for Words and Pictures... but I forgot to print it out. Durp. :<

Besides that I've never used them in anything. But oh how I want to. Perhaps I shall make a design in color theory that's H*R related while there's still time.
Next year I'll probably be sneaking in references in my Illustration classes everywhere. A Homestar Runner doodle here, a picture of Strong Bad's mask there... Bwahahahahhaaha! Hopefully I'll have a teach who knows the site.

Nowadays, everytime I end a PowerPoint for school, I use this MS Painted picture that has the words "It's Over!" with a badly-drawn Homestar at the corner. It always works! Fastest & best way to end a PowerPoint! Seriously, you should try. I think it automatically gives you 5 extra points. I don't know.
