I agree with Joe here. It's not really fair to propose the removal of a category just because you don't like the current nominations. If there's a valid reason for it, it would make sense. Instead, I would suggest that, if you don't like the current nominations, feel free to make some fresh ones. We have had other fads, you know, like Soccerfaec and Snape.

They are staying because they are two of the most popular awards we have. Getting rid of them would create a lot of backlash and an immediate re-nomination and confirmation.

I have a bit of a worry about something. The awards will be handed out Labor Day? That's a whole 2 months. BTG, you think you can possibly scale things back, maybe make it mid-August?

category is full? i only checked the awards bracket at the beginning of the thread because i thought that that was what BTG was going to be updating...most recent accounting of all open cateorgies and such is where, then?

No. Labor Day is perfect. No one is working on that day. We are all here. I counldn't think of a better time than everyone's last hurrah before fall.

i will second that addition. i'm honestly not sure why people want to get rid of this category so badly. it's a pretty classic category here.

I still think it's too long. The awards should have started back in June, so we're running a ways behind.
